Someone whom I grew up with and loved so dearly was taken away instantly. 6 years and I mourn him still. The hug between Jon and Robb reminds me of that day.
In the books, Jon Snow didn't really want to leave Winterfell, he always felt he was a stark but out of the available options he had, he thought Castle Black was the best.

Aside from Arya, I think Robb was the one who esteemed and loved Jon. It's always so sweet to me how perhaps despite Catelyn's obvious dislike towards Jon, Robb never resented him.
In their culture a bastard doesn't carry the family name and status unless he is officially legitimised by decree or something. We saw Lord Bolton had to legitimize his bastard son Ramsey.
It’s even sadder when you read the books because he names Jon his heir should he die without issue and was willing to send a thousands of men to night’s watch to relieve Jon of his vows

it's really too bad that Robb couldn't live to see who jon snow would become, all the respect he commanded, and didn't even really try, all he wanted to do, is fight for north, but...if Robb had lived, and then everyone found out about his true heritage, he would've taken the iron throne, and Robb stark would've been king of the north, and just imagine how well all that would've turned out...=-)

GOT is the goat that ever graced thr television. It was perfect! I could watch them just talk for several hours
