Hahahah. Full disclosure: I may not be an orange sniffer, but I am a melon sniffer.

Great info. What do you think of supplementing a diet with something like a greens drink like Athletic Greens? Just because I’m sure I don’t get enough fruits and vegetables every day.

Glad you liked it! I personally choose not to use products that are designed to offer comprehensive nutritional support, for many reasons (I’ll call them multivitamins, for short). One main reason is that multivitamins contain so many ingredients that there’s only room for small amounts of each nutrient - often not in therapeutic doses. Also, multivitamins tend not to have the safest, highest-quality, most bioavailable form of each nutrient.
In addition, multivitamins introduce many different nutrients into your body at once, and that makes it difficult to determine which of those nutrients are actually benefiting you and which are causing any side effects that may arise. It also makes it impossible to find the proper dose of each nutrient for your body specifically, because multivitamins have nutrients in fixed ratios.
Every body is different, and multivitamins attempt to offer a one-size-fits-all, shortcut approach that I find antithetical to true healing. I prefer to be more intentional with what I put into my body instead of just throwing a bunch of stuff in and hoping some of it helps.
Most importantly, I believe that there’s no way to replace the life-giving qualities of fresh fruits. Something essential is always lost when you make a living fruit into a powder.
For those who want to majorly boost their nutrient intake without eating tons of mass, I’d recommend juicing, or more targeted, personalized approaches to supplementation. Although in general, I believe that when it comes to effectively maintaining or improving health, there is no substitute for simply having more of your daily caloric intake consist of fresh fruits and vegetables (especially fruits), and less of the other stuff.
