    I love the way you set up this review, especially the part about the sound with all the frequency spikes etc, it really makes for a good insight in why the instrument has the sound qualities that it does. Great review!

    I use the trigger often, but never thought to use half, or 3/4 trigger to make tuning adjustments. So, yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

    This is brilliant! You, alone, have moved well beyond the subjective review and added actual science, and therefore have validated. In the eyes and ears of all, your subjective opinion. Thank you!
    Will you compare the Besson Sovereign and the Prestige soon? Or perhaps the Prestige and the Yamaha Custom? Keep up your fine work!

    Having played Besson Prestige and the Geneva Symphony for a number of years the last 8 months Playing the Yamaha Neo has been excellent. This is a great horn.

    The first 10 sec of your video says it actual all. I like the sound of the Neo a lot more. Much ritcher and darker sound whitch fit the instrument euphonium a lot more from my opinion. i did watch the whole video offcourse. Thanks for this comparisson. I still have a doubt between the Neo and de BE967. Could you point out the differences between the BE967 and the 642S Neo ??

  • @louisthomas367

    Hey could you do a comparison on the besson prestige and the sovereign

    • @AKCEuph
      @AKCEuph 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      From my experience, the Prestige is heavier and has a slightly darker tone. However, the sovereign has a free floating lead pipe that a lot of people really like!
      There are a few more differences but those are a couple that come to mind. You really have to play them to get a good idea of how the horns work for you :)

    • @jeffstratton5555
      @jeffstratton5555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've read the Sovereign had some noticeable intonation issues that they worked out on the Prestige. That's just what I read, no 1st hand confirmation...

    I have a 641 that both the 642 & 842 were developed from, & a 842. Both very good.
    Both have silver plating issues where I hold them.

    Just got the neo after years of saving and just now getting my chops back. Im having trouble with the high Aflat. Im often hitting the c above it… I know I’m probably pinching since I’m getting my chops back, but it seems like a tough note on the instrument. All the other notes are up there are coming out clear. Advice?

    Do you have comparison between Yamaha 842 , Yamaha 642 and Besson Prestige 2052 ?
    If you don’t have a video yet comparing this euphoniums and because I know you played all this euphoniums , ( Yamaha 842 , Yamaha 642 and Prestige 2052 ) can you tell which euphonium you like better ?

    • @stl3528
      @stl3528 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Euphonium is good to start brass instruments, because it's lighter than tuba and easier than trumpet (I play eupho and trumpet is hard for me). All brass instruments are easy to play, and they are all hard to play really good. So you can begin with euphonium, as well as any other brass instrument
