    You can tell that Ridley Scott, who was the director of the original "Blade Runner" and Producer on "Blade Runner 2049", loves the pinocchio story as reflected in his other work on Prometheus movie series specifically with regards to Michael Fassbender's character of David.
    Prometheus: Engineers make humans who make David who makes Aliens
    Blade Runner: Humans make Replicants who naturally conceive a Replicant Human hybrid
    From Denis Villeneuve you can see the love of the ideas surrounding a Messianic figure and how it affects one to come to the conclusion that they are a messianic figure with K in the case of Blade Runner believing he is in fact the product of an immaculate birth "A Miracle" and also reflected in Denis' other hit movie Dune where the Messiah story is explored even further.
    I absolutely love when you can see these fingerprints of creatives so seamlessly woven in cinematic pieces.

    Fun and insightful film analysis presented in a very digestible format accessible to everyone, even for those, like myself, which otherwise all the rich symbolism and subtexts would have gone over my head.

    Great video! I think I found some of the connections at the end to be a little bit of stretches, but otherwise thought it was thoughtful and the parallels to be interesting

    • @CinemaLoveLetters
      @CinemaLoveLetters  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely stretches! But it's fun to stretch the mind when considering these parallels, and with how deep these writers and directors go when developing their films, who's to say that Villeneuve didn't reach for the connections to The Bell Jar or the Bible? The unusual inclusion of Pale Fire and Treasure Island indicates that he has an interest in the connection between film and literature. Thanks for the comment! Make sure to subscribe to catch the next video.

    Could you analyze Ghostbusters 1984? Serious. Of course it's full of occult and humorist references, but I would guess masonic ones as well. To which, I just realized both Pinocchio and Blade Runner are full of.

      @CinemaLoveLetters  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will add it to my list! Many Hollywood films are filled with Masonic symbolism, and it's actually one of my favorite things to discover when watching new films. The Truman Show is especially filled with Masonic references. Thanks for the recommendation!

    Geez!!! I did not know that Author had written and their work was adapted sooo much. Literally like an other Roald Dahl. WOW.

    Jiminy Cricket is crushed under foot (Just like Joi) in the original Pinnochio book by Collodi. Perhaps not a remake of Disney, but a retelling of the book in sci-fi dystopian form.

      And thanks for including the twin theory, which I suspected as well. I’d love to see a breakdown and significance of the female forces in Joe’s life. The contrast of Joy/Love/Marionette and what they represent to the author.
