1) yes and no, before kvk1, i mostly free healed everything, but did use like maybe 1 week worth of healing speeds on kd drama to get 10m kp pre kvk1, other than that, i didn't batch heal as much as i thought i would need considering the amount of fights i have been entering, my goal for this kvk was 100m KP, and i already achieved 110m this kvk alone. I just don't get as much healing speedups from playing the game as i get to use in 1 kvk alone. 2) definitely a game changer for me, as i managed to expertise him on the first wheel, chaining and field fighting becomes really good for me, he hasn't payed himself off yet with the chaining part, but with many more kvks, he will pay himself off from chaining. Field fighting is important with exp mina + ysg as my trades average around 200-250%. don't think this is consistently reachable without it, as this means more KP, and lesser rss and speedups used on healing. (note that i got like 60m KP off the first few ruins so thats why expertising him 1st wheel is important) 3)definitely not if you aren't even T5, if my account had T5 cavs already by now, then yes excess universals can start going towards healing T5 troops, every universal should be prioritised in getting your first T5 unit from research.
