    Hi, keen to know how you feel about the clear view mirrors after 12 months, thank you

      Hi Steve only just started using them as we got our van. The only thing that is frustrating is that when switching between towing and not towing you have to manually adjust the small mirror. Also take some use to looking at two different mirrors. Apart from that they have been pretty good.

    What year is your Hilux mate? I’m wanting to do the same with the auto fold mirrors

      Hi Shane it’s a 2015 model, First of the new shape. I found the wiring harness between the two mirrors is missing and you will need run a cable to join the two.

    I have a set of compac units on my 2022/23 dmax. There very good but the only problem I found is that the blindspot monitoring is very hard to see during the day so they don’t provide a good and safe warning for this. I had them send me several sensors and still not bright enough. So I’m stuck as is…., I must say that the staff at Clearview have been great. Just think that this could be easily fix, if they wanted…… also the indicators when you turn them on nearly blind you and their positing is questionable I think as they face inwards towards the driver?…? Otherwise there a good mirror.

    Thanks for the great video mate, I’m trying to decide on the Next Gen vs Compact. I’m hoping the compact doesn’t have the same convex ratio as the lower part of the next gen. What we’re your thoughts on the convex ratio for the compact? I’ll be towing a 22’ caravan with a 200 Landcruiser.

      Thanks Mike much appreciate the comment. Don’t know exactly what the convex ratio is but as soon as I heard it was convex on the compact, i knew that i didn’t want that as I wanted a 1 to 1 especially for reversing. Because of this I never investigated any further.

    Maybe you should have given some more footage of the mirrors on your vehicle

      Hi Brendan thanks for commenting. What type of footage would you like to see more? When I do my long term review I can possibly add it in there.

    Great video, I am keen to know if you have any problems with the extending arms being stiff or flaking of finish on mirrors. They seem to have poor rating on forums, thanks

    • @ewkaus
      @ewkaus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Steve so far I haven’t seen any flaking. As for them being stiff they maybe a little but I rather that, than them being loose and the mirrors slowly working themselves back in. I’ll make I pay attention to the flaking.

    Most (if not all) modern vehicles use convex mirrors and our eyes have become very used to this when reversing and using the mirror in general.
    This is why it's printed on the glass "objects in mirror may seem further away"
    I find going back to a 1to1 mirror glass is a huge pain as you have all this mirror glass but your view is actually less.
    I find this is actually more dangerous as you can't see enough width, have increased blind spots etc.
    In the end your brain always reverts to the smaller convex mirror as this is what it's used to and you primarily use that.
    I don't believe 1to1 makes it any easier or safer to reverse or 4x4 etc
    Any clearview mirror I put on my vehicles now is the compact only as they give you the largest convex mirror glass and the towing extension (which is why most buy them in the first place)

      Cheers for the comment and your thoughts. We only just got our van and have been using the mirrors more. Definitely share some of thoughts. Will actually do a follow up video on this and what I think after using these mirrors.

    Timely video, I am in the market for tow mirrors also.
    What I hate about all of them is the convex mirror at the bottom.
    Just give me the whole thing FLAT!
    Clearview, you have to sell a kidney to afford them.
    Kinda leaning toward Ocam meself.q

    • @ewkaus
      @ewkaus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find the little convex mirror ok and allows you to adjust to see a slightly different angle. What I hate most is that it is a manual adjustment. BTW I’m still learning to live with one kidney 😂.

      OCAM was ruled out due to their size.
