However, don't forget the first original we ever heard from her, after she was signed (iirc), before planned appearance at Woodstock 50th anniversary (before that festival imploded on everyone), she was invited to AGT: The Champions in 2019, where she performed "Pretty Little Thing" and blew away the audience and all four judges. Then the bots hit AGT voting AGAIN and she didn't advance. Between trolls aiming at her and bots stuffing votes, she had a few rough years there. But that song IP is tied up, I suspect, with her contract...the one she's no longer limited by since end of last year (iirc). She can't release it, if I've sussed the situation correctly. Ask Taylor Swift or her Swifties to tell you all about THAT kind of problem with the biz.

Between COVID and her Record label trying to keep her in a box with all the same music we here everyday. And as you said that isn’t Courtney she is original and unique as they come and she wasn’t having it. She is an independent artist and doing it all on her own after finally getting out from under the Record Label. This was her second release, check out her 1st “Breakable”. It’s telling a little story about her Journey since AGT as is this song. Although you can tell she is an amazing performer and I would love to see her in concert!

There is no one like Courtney. Besides being a generational level talent, she is so unique and such a breath of fresh air that the music world so badly needs. The good news is that you should be seeing a lot of Courtney music coming quickly down the pipeline gong forward. Actually this is not her first original release. Her first original was back on Feb 24th when she dropped a gritty ballad called 'Breakable' that is just sensational and which you will love. You've got to react to it. You asked about it. Courtney will be 19 in July. The last five years have been such a battle for her. First there was her label, which has been trying to twist her into something she didn't want to be. She always said she would never be another pop princess and she stood her ground and didn't allow it to happen. Talk about strength and character. Most would have given in. Then Covid hit and she was completely shut down for over two years. You know Courtney is British and there was a complete travel ban from the UK to the US during that time. Between the two (label and Covid), it made it impossible for her to get her original music out. So as soon as she was able, at the beginning of this year, she walked away from her label and went independent. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. It's said now that she is driving, to expect a release approximately every month. This song and the video, which is creative genius, tells much of the story, with, IMO, so many messages that are being sent. More on that later. First the song. Absolutely terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. It's a complete 360 in style from her first release, 'Breakable', which was the gritty, beautiful ballad I mentioned above, and just serves as a reminder that Courtney can sing just about anything and be great at it. If it wasn't Courtney singing, and you weren't aware of the incredible versatility she has, you'd be surprised that both of these songs could come from the same artist. I love how so many people view Courtney as this hard core, full out, stage dominating rocker, and then when she releases her own music, she leads with a sensational ballad (Breakable), and follows it up with an uptempo, jazzy song that has the feel almost of 1940's Swing. (That Girl Doesn't Live Here). Not only is the song fabulous, but the video is a work of art and perfect for the song. It's just my opinion, but I think there are a number of messages here. First, Courtney is singing about, among other things, no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Past/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney in the video and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland). Secondly, for the last four plus years, the labels have tried to tell Courtney what she should be. Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Lastly, when all the paparazzi come to the door and she turns them away, she is saying that to be able to release the kind of music I love is more important than the possible fame if I have to sell out to get it. Courtney has a huge library of originals that she has written over the last few years that she hasn't been able to release. She has shared many of those originals, in whole or in part, with her fans, mostly over live chats on social media and everything she has shared has been sensational. She is a true powerhouse as a song writer. Can't wait to hear you doing many more future reactions to Courtney's own material. Don't forget to check out 'Breakable'. I totally agree that this was worth the wait. Courtney has a fantastic voice and she owns every stage I've seen her perform on. She will be a superstar before long.😊
She will be 19 this year. I LOVE this song. It's like the old bigband swing songs from the 50' brought up in mordern time, and it's absolutely fire. You should react to Breakable too it's another side to her, more soft and thoughtful. The lyrics are fkng amazing

She was 18 when this was released. It is her second video release. She gave us a clue as to who and what she will be. I would say it will definitely be worth it. in 2024, we will have her first album and she will be internationally known and awed at.
