I just recently got re-introduced to Taylor Swift. This is one of my favorite songs. This is a lovely, lovely song. I’m an amateur belly dancer and this has the feel of Romani/ Spanish rhythms of some of the tribal dances troupes I’ve worked with. The lyrics are clever-like so many of her songs. She truly has a way of capturing a phrase and making it an earworm.

If you like this song, I have good news, because there's a bunch of alternate versions of this, including a '90's Trend' version! I'll say, a lot of those versions aren't as layered, as though they got permission to use the vocal track and messed around with other arrangements.

I believe artists often like to try new things...if they're allowed to. The powers that be want them to stick to what worked before, so it can be a struggle for most to break from the box/genre they became profitable in. Taylor & Beyonce have the clout to choose, so are branching out.
