The first one is to assist me in learning Japanese. The second being I find Science fascinating and the fact that I now study Computer Science and not other Sciences like chemistry means that I miss watching experiments like this. Plus I'm supporting someone who is doing amazing work with children. The kind of thing that a child would find memorable, something that I wish I got the opportunity to experience more of.

Did you know that you can use it to kill pest mice? Just add fish smell in it so that the mice will be entice to eat it and baking soda. The mixture will expand and solidify in the mice stomach killing it.
If anyone reads this who is fluent in Japanese and English, can you explain to me what 食べに means? I know that in the video, it is said to be food colouring but from what I know, its use here is incorrect (although I'm most likely wrong). 食 means food but the べに in relation to the 食 is what I'm not sure of.

いつも楽しくみております。
子どもたちと実験をする機会が多いのですが、ダイラタンシーが硬くなる理由の説明の際、力が加わると水が出て行くとおっしゃっておりましたね。
私は、最初粒子が密充填状態だったものが、圧力を加えたことによって疎充填状態になり粒子の間の隙間が大きくなったことにより、内側の隙間に水分が移動するという解釈です。
すいません長々と。
実際のところどうなのでしょうか？

原理の解釈、おっしゃっる通りです！水は「出ていく」のではなく「移動」します。動画ではより子どもたちがイメージしやすいよう、できるだけシンプルで簡単な説明になるよう試みています。
