Comparing Lukas and Holbein Gouache Paints

  • In this video I will be comparing both the Lukas Studio Gouache and Holbein Artist Gouache. I will be looking for any differences or similarities in the two gouaches. This will not be a video on which one is better than the other but a video to see what limitations theses paints have.
    Supplies used
    Lukas Studio Gouache
    Holbein Artist Gouache
    Paper used for the speed painting is Arches Hotpress watercolor paper block

    Great comparison. The peacock is so nice! The Lukas looks a little gluey, but I see the big difference between them. 😊

      Yes I’m really thinking the Lukas have like a synthetic ingredient or something but both was a joy to work with Thank you 🙏 . I might go back and make a splatter background for the butterfly painting before I completely call that one finished. 😃👩🏼‍🎨

      @@dcfineart1562 like you said one is student grade. Holbein is high quality. Both paintings look equally beautiful, it’s the artist that make it beautiful not the paint 😄 I think the butterfly is perfect the way it is
