This happened to me too! Right when the chair animation was playing after installing the Canto, it and the Erebus and maybe a third voiceline all played at once. I was spooked!!
Well lore wise that was the point. Arasaka took Militech's Soul killer program so they needed something designed to counter it. Instead they basically made the equivalent of a virtual WMD.

Cyberpsychosis is most likely caused by the body rejecting the chrome attached to it along with pre-existing mental issues. Of course my knowledge comes from the table top game and the videogame changed a lot of the lore especially around johnny silver hand

The beginning of V's journey started with a dangerous experimental shard housing a construct from Arasaka, and now it ends with a dangerous experimental shard housing a construct from Militech. If anyone in the Cyberpunk universe can harness the best tech from the two largest and advanced corps, they would quite literally be one of the most dangerous and capable individuals within said universe.
On my netrunner build save slot I'm 100 percent going for this chip as the fact it speaks to you makes me feel even more like some death wizard being. Coz when you think about it, Netrunners are the wizards/mages of cyberpunk
Mate I just completed a 120 hour playthrough of the base game (had to reload and get all possible endings ya know, plus the side quests were... fun??) But I think one of the dumbest things I did with a full Netrunner build was install gorilla arms out of curiosity at like, level 50 near the final mission lmao. Literally thinking "WELL SHIT THIS IS REALLY FUN TOO, and I got no room to spec anything else..."

Eh not really, Netrunners main function in tabletop isn't even represented in 2077 at least not for the player (only thing close to it is when you get jacked in by the voodoo boys to meet Altiera. And you cant really do anything in there) Cyberware hacking is something completely different from netrunning in 2020 or RED. Netrunning was kinda like jacking into the matrix, though more so the otherway around since second edition CP2020 predated that movie by nine years. CDPR did kind of a shit job at translating over the world, hell they couldn't even get the canon right.

I had thought of this myself, as a means of fulfilling the cyberpsychosis type scenario, you find a cure, an absolute cure that would otherwise be a happy ending, though rogue a.i. but as a dark twist you and your cured body are now an extension of it's sky-net will. It would really shine a light on David Martinez's "cautionary tale", except that v is able to grapple with it and maintain relative stability, and now this is your new life. A nightmarish symbiosis with an a.i. that's trying to corrupt you in return for a free ticket to resume the life you had before the biochip. More powerful and unstoppable than ever, and free to actually live, but with a homicidal a.i. riding on your shoulder, a danger to everyone around you and the only thing between them and a terminator apocalypse style scenario is your sheer will to live . Or a potential devil ending, you give in to it And become a big bad villain yourself. Ending up like so mi just, not on your death bed, truly forsaking what was left of your humanity and just going full on GLaDOS on night city. I mean just imagine a playthrough of that, or a new game plus that just for the fun of it replaces the biochip malfunctions with the a.i. "chipping in" maybe it even ACTIVELY tries to overthrow you during those moments of deterioration and you have to do a quick-hack sequence, and if you fail, it damages you a bit. I went off the rails but the rogue a.i. angle is just really fun.

Remember the runner that was with Johnny and rouge in his memories? Spider Murphy. Well, Silverhands memories aren't exactly what happened, Courtesy of Arasaka. Smasher ended up killing Johnny because he was willing to sacrifice himself so that his friends could escape the blast radius. Smasher killed Johnny on the roof of the tower. And with all the fighting going on, It was Murphy who used soulkiller on Johnny. But during the later escape attempt, she dropped the chip he was on. That's how Arasaka got his engram.

The Canto/Erebus is most likely the Blackwall AI itself. I’m pretty sure it’s also the same AI in the Reed mission Somewhat Damaged that pilots the Cerberus mech, as well as the same AI that takes control of the Chimera during Spider and Fly.

Honestly the Canto should have been given to you by Songbird. I too used console commands to get this on Songbird's route. As fun as the Reed route is gameplay wise, screw the NUS and screw Myers. Also the Erebus is pretty overrated. It's a weird SMG that behaves like a shotgun with random bullet spread that makes it suck at anything beyond 10-15m range. As for the Canto itself... just 4 quickhack slots really limits what you can do.
i think the quickhack slots in the canto are just what you need, anything more and it'd be stupid overpowered, you already have blackwall with it, you just need some quickhacks to manipulate your queue and RAM
@@ledocteur7701 agreed, it's very hard to beat the Rippler's 20 RAM at max tier unless you are specifically using something like the Raven for massive spread distance shenanigans. Also the extra benefits you get from the Rippler are A tier effects, especially the +40% damage when a combat quickhack is followed by a non-combat quickhack. This let's you use super cheap hacks like T2 Reboot Optics to give your big hitters an easy and cheap 40% damage buff.

It does look like her, but I doubt it's the same person, she'd have to be around 80 considering the bomb was in 2023, also... Johnny' memory of what happened at saka tower is warped... He never met that woman in actuality, johnny died to smasher inside the tower and was soulkilled by spider Murphy, so the runner is most likely in johnny's imagination only

Why did it cut to him on the ground and then to him running up the stairs? Also, let's be real: that whole sequence where Johnny was just one shot, everyone was BS.
A really good quickhack if you hybridize your runner build, I for one have 20int/20reflex/20tech/17cool/4body Its not going to be as op as say a Raven with suicide quickhack on and its annoying how you can only que 1 Blackwall per target but hey a talking cyberdeck is neat. Yeah sure it has only 4 slots but its all you really need honestly, I use Sonic/Ping/Cyberware Malfunction or reboot optics/Synapse Now although you think synapse is redundant and expensive but I mainly got it for quick Axotl refresh and increase overclock duration, that and I also use Active Camo. With this build you can control the engagement and even as a 4 body full int runner, it makes maxtach a joke, if stuff gets hairy just active camo and since your also using axotl you basically have infinite camo/bloodpump and overclock duration. Synapse is there for the quick dot kill for the refresh and on kill heal, blackwall when I wanna focus more on shooting with my smartweapons.
My only concern is I like avoiding certain key fights like the one in Gun Music which requires a Body of at least 10 though I suppose I could divide pts between Reflexes and Cool as a dump stat
Does also make me wonder why the AI would send you blueprints of this... and what their plan for it really is outside simply collecting data on anyone you look at or quickhack.
V picks up the blueprints from a cynosure facility to which they broke into and the data theyre collecting is combat data, they wanna know how the weapon performs

You get it in the cynosure lab after betraying songbird, there's crafting specs for this and Erebus (the ai gun), then after you get out it sends you the text I got
Nothing wrong with doing what you think is right on your first playthrough and then experiencing the rest of the content by making different choices in your next playthroughs
Honestly not even that good. I prefer the Arasaka cyberdeck and just uploading Sonic Shock and Synapse Burnout to everything I see. Same lethality with none of the eldritch horror.

Honestly not even that good. I prefer the Arasaka cyberdeck and just uploading Sonic Shock and Synapse Burnout to everything I see. Same lethality with none of the eldritch horror.
