OMG I had severe withdrawel symptoms last week. Now my saturday is complete! Love that makeover, but would hever have been brave enough to attempt to draw that wallpaper. Kudos! For sure a labor of love :-) Now staring at my white wall... perhaps If I exchange that orange for...light beige?THat would be my kind of bravery 😆 And I have to say I love so much that you do relatable spaces on a even more relatable budget. I Surely hope you never run out of broke friends, for absolute selfish reasons...!
I promise I will NEVER run out of broke friends or ideas. I think I have become an anti HGTV show. Haha. And honestly, any pattern (even in a beige or taupe or neutral) can do SO much for a space. I’ve seen so many beautiful ones.

I can’t believe how expensive they are from antique dealer. Luckily, I’ve scored a few in the last from thrift stores or marketplace
Not me being irrationally angry that he shoved that bookcase in that little spot when it looks like he has tons of other spaces to place it in that large living/dining room area 🤣🤣 I do wish you were able to rehang and frame all of his artwork - it's all hung at the wrong height but has real potential to bring the room together if reworked a bit. LOVE that we finally got to see where that stunning bar-from-microwave upcycle ended up ❤️❤️❤️

I was even more excited for today's video because mid century modern is a style I love! I know we're maximalists on this channel but if you ever get a gig that's for a Japandi style reno I would love to see that as well because it's another style I'm interested in!~

Hiya, my pop taught me, when drilling holes in the ceiling, use a sluppee cup Top slid over the drill bit to catch the drywall. xoxome, Bon 🤸🥂🌲
Another great tip!
For future projects, you can put some clear coat over the painter's tape before you paint and get the same effect as the caulking.. without having to scrub anything off. You can also use the same color as the basecoat, but in rentals, where you don't know what the color is, clear coat is better.

Great design - love the joyful orange, the chandelier is a nice counte rbalance statement piece and your DIY bar cart and TV cabinet hit the right century:) tone. Nice marriage between 50s/60s/70s. Turquoise is 50s, orange is 70s (never together during their eras). Only some of the pillows are hippy 60s (hippy decor and common decor totally different from each other). I haven't seen that wall pattern since 1976. The only time I ever saw an atomic starburst light fixture was in a restaurant when I was 4. (1964). They generally were for lounges and restaurants. Too bad you couldn't find a mushroom lamp for that wall. And no lava lamp?? But nice marriage of all three decades.
So happy to bring that pattern back. It’s so fun. And I would have loved a mushroom/lava lamp situation! If we weren’t maxed out in budget, we surely would have gone even groovier.

How were you able to draw the geometric shapes on wall so perfectly identical in size? I wanted to create a shower curtain with this design. Can u do that on one of your episodes?
To do this, I just cut a single half circle cardboard template and then traced that a ton in whichever direction. The key is to take your curtain measurements, figure out how tall/wide your design should be to repeat it.
Not my style but a very big improvement in the room. Designing those shapes looked like a tedious job. You really need to have patience. The addition of the thrifted furniture pieces worked very well. I think this design suited the owner who complimented your personality and made it a more personal makeover.
This shapes were rough, but so happy with the result!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure any caulking you use is "PAINTABLE"!!! Silicone caulking, like for your shower or kitchen sink IS NOT PAINTABLE and both you and your landlord will hate you lol. Easier is just to use gesso, or leftover paint that matches the undercolor to seal the edge of the tape 👍❣️. Speaking from experience 😖🤪
