Normally, when you do this at home, you let them dry for one day, before wearing them again. I am aware that they are limited by time, but I am not sure if the waterproofing treatments added on wet shoe are best on long term (maybe if they are water based perhaps) - he tries to speed up the process, using a hair dryer.
