+Sebastian Kirschner 12/8 is commonly beat as four beats per bar, each beat is a dotted crotchet. 6/8 can be beated either as 2 beats or 6, 9/8 is commonly beated in 3, again with each beat representing a dotted crotchet.
Oh my! A group of people in pseudo military uniforms sitting in a church and playing an out of tune uptempo march version of "In the Sweet By and By". Ya never know what the internet will cough up.
@@sharonhoare5790 Fine. Whatever. But if it's for the glory of God, you might consider playing in tune. And really, basing your dress on an institution that is dedicated to killing people might be a choice one could re-consider.
@@Steampunksaly - I don't know what a 'salvationist is. I don't know what axe you think I have to grind. But.... I'm a musician and I DO know this is poorly played music.
Okay, well, admittedly not one of our best sounding bands, but a sincere effort and no doubt it typical of our sincere musician's efforts, the work of the band goes well beyond just practicing and performing music but renders compassionate service to others in the Lord's Name. Yes; there were issues with tempo and intonation, but acoustically, the recording was technically lacking so you don't get a proper audio representation of what they're doing. I think your assessment is, considering everything, a bit harsh if not unkind. And yes, I did notice they were somewhat lacking in personnel in the upper brass end of things. If you knew (assuming you might not) some of the lyrics to the tunes within the medley, that' might swing things a bit more over to the plus side, and lessen the impact of any technical lacking. If you do know all the lyrics, then that's a 'wash'. (I'm an S.A bandsman of around 60 years so I've been around the "S.A." block a time or two.
Very strong bass and trombone section. Great video.
That trombone is pretty excited to be here...
afdsadf 147852369 They just like playing with confidence.
Which trombone?
The only one, right side.
There were actually four - you just can't see them all.
and I thought that my band had a lot of tuba.
2 Eb and 2 Bb is common in a brass band. Unless you were referring to the sound.
I can only read and conduct the simple ones like 2/4 3/4 and 4/4 can u help me read something more complicated like 12/8 time

+Trent Hamilton ok thank you
Has the soprano and 2nd cornets gone on strike? Enjoyed the music, nicely played.
We didn't have a soprano in this video, and the 2nd cornets were in line with the rest.
And the award for the nasty comment of the year goes too………
Did the trio turn into 6/8?
Yes

These are the uniforms of a real army, the Salvation Army. A Christian army band playing to the glory of God not for praise of man.
