I agree with you totally. I am from a small city and I'am 21 for my future education I thought I needed to go to big city so I came here to Pune and wanted to be so badly here, to know myself, to get freedom, exposure to new city and etc were the thoughts so I joined the MBA but when I m here it just feels empty and lonely. It feels like this is not what I thought reality is way more different. I miss my home badly and the main realization was I obviously don't want to do MBA. So ya we get influenced by social content and we don't think mindfully but rather follow someone else's opinion.

It's quite a complicated topic, as a 32 year old single guy who probably has similar stoical, phlegmatic and even detached perspective towards life I can just imagine the pressure you might be feeling in a trenchantly collectivist society like india and to relieve this pressure being swayed by panglossian worldview of social media in a ll its hues and consequent overstimulation can be daunting. But strangely the algorithm can also at an unconscious level helps you to connect with what you intend to seek like this video for example which is suggested to me just at the time when I was wondering what life would be like for someone in similar existential tedium as mine. So it can be serendipitous as well, i think it all boils down to balances social media is an extension of life, a form of kaleidoscope for inner and outer exploration. And you are doing absolutely fine, for have a routine in your life which acts as an anchor and keeps you occupied, in zen Buddhism that's what they teach you essentially.
    All the best

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! It's interesting how the algorithm can sometimes bring us content that resonates just when we need it. I totally agree-balancing the overstimulation of social media while staying grounded in reality is crucial. It’s easy to get swept up in the highlights and perfectionism it portrays. Having routines has definitely helped me maintain that balance, and it’s something I’m constantly working on. I appreciate you bringing up Zen Buddhism, I think there's a lot of wisdom in those teachings about mindfulness and staying present, which can really help in this fast-paced world. I’m glad this video connected with you at the right moment!😃☺
