  • A Calea Victoriei Bucuresti walking tour in Romania on a Wednesday.I went to see what Calea Victoriei looks like on a normal Wednesday day from the University to Victoriei Square. I was a little surprised to see that there are very few people on the streets. Maybe that's the way it is during the week.
Calea Victoriei is the boulevard between Victoriei Square and United Nations Square, a total of 2.7 km. I started the tour above, from the Military Circle. If you want to see it leisurely, go to all the museums, allocate a minimum of 5-6 hours, while hurried travelers can see it in a 2-hour walk.
Calea Victoriei was the first street with electric lighting in Bucharest. The electric lighting was initially introduced only in front of the Royal Palace, and then expanded step by step. So, another novelty is happening on Calea Victoriei, again it was in the center of attention and slowly - slowly it demanded the right of main street.
Choose to take a few hours walk on Calea Victoriei and visit and photograph everything that comes your way.

Romania should have severe laws against people who ruin buildings with those ugly graffitis

Possible! but there are also many beautiful things! it depends on what he sees. like any wrath in the world, good or bad. have you been to bucharest?

@@bTravelChannell Yes, I've been to Bucharest but what I was tryin' to say is that those letter, splotch graffitis ruin everything and you can see them EVERYWHERE in Bucharest. There's literally no other capital that has so many. Too bad cuz it ruins the aspect of the city. I was also surprised how Bucharest has alot of different arhitectures. One side reminded me of Paris, the other one of communism, the next one has that modern multinational look-a-like, crazy innit?

@@valt1337 the graffiti is there to represent the freedom romanians have. Graffiti used to be illegal and punishable by a number of years in prison, and now people are allowed to do whatever they like. A lot of that "ugly" graffiti is the names of people, because they don't have to fear anything anymore . I personally think it's beautiful.

@@tortellinifettuccine Is not there to represent the freedom of the people, and if they write their names that is just vandalism, it doesn't have sense what you said. Romania has laws against vandalism like this of course, but they can't always catch the perpetrators.

@Puya008 it is there to represent the freedom of the people, yes vandalism is illegal, but graffiti is not considered vandalism. Yes, some graffiti can be bad, they take that graffiti down, but for the most part, romania, especially bucharest, is very graffiti friendly, and will only take down graffiti if it dosnet look pleasing to the eye. I find it has a better graffiti game than Berlin, simply for the fact that a majority of the graffiti is very good, and sometimes you can actually find people singing their name back when they were just starting, and right next to it you see what they can do now. Never have I seen street art tell more of a story than in bucharest.
