After verses defeat in XIV, all souls inside him are released, one of them was orochi, but he was too weak so chizuru Kyo and iori sealed him again. Also we saw ash crimson who was back again but he did not wake up yet. We may see many unexpected events in kof XV and the ones that will be in the future, if orochi would come back, I don't think it would be so soon in XV ^^
I think it's pretty clear that the Orochi we see in in '97 is not the same one we were told about in the games leading up to '97 (in terms of power), especially with Kyo, Iori, and Chizuru ruining the ritual and forcing the Orochi Team to half-ass it by using a battle damaged Chris as a host.

I think that, if KOF developers thought to the fact that Orochi is the strongest boss in terms of history, they would make him return, maybe in a DLC, stronger than Rugal Bernstein, who's actually too much broken in KOFXV (and he's just a criminal boss with omnipotence deliriums who can't do anything without Orochi power and technological power-ups...)! I hope SNK will make Orochi, Real Yashiro, Real Shermie and Real Chris return in KOFXVI. 🙏

This guy tried to return to the series after Verge died. Welp, too bad, Kyo, Iori, and Chizuru ending up killing him again. Yes, Chizuru appeared in Iori's ending of the game! Also, back in the day, when I spent a lot of time in M.U.G.E.N, I wanted a God Orochi type character unlike the one Ahuron made. One in particular that mastered all of the elements represented by several of the fighters in the series, like Gaidel's ability to control water, Chris's ability to use flames, etc. Yeah, he'd be a cheap character, but boy, if you look at CPU fights for KoF M.U.G.E.N characters, they're astonishing to watch. And not only that, I'd like this version of Orochi to glow like he did in KoF '97. He'd be one of the most beautiful looking cheap boss characters.

I am sorry to any Orochi fans, but this was the most "Eh...?" moment i had in the franchise. I still hope it's just because Athena happens to be the ultimate Orochi counter, but i never struggled against this guy. Still, the music and the ambientation are really epic, i'll give him that.
You're right he's an Eh... of a Boss one of the quickest Bosses I can beat in any of the SNK fighting games however he's my favorite one just the look alone looks like someone I wanna see wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Orochi is borderline broken in terms of moveset, but his AI is very far from being on your usual SNK Boss Syndrome level. He's not as aggressive or overly defensive as most SNK bosses, so you get a lot more chances to get in close and beat the crap out of him. Had his AI been on the same level as, say, Goenitz in '96, he'd probably be nearly unbeatable.
Yea honestly Orochi has always been a pushover, one of the easiest bosses in the entire series, which i always hated. He was the one KOF boss i actually WANTED to be hard seeing his place in the storyline.

I am sorry to any Orochi fans, but this was the most "Eh...?" moment i had in the franchise. I still hope it's just because Athena happens to be the ultimate Orochi counter, but i never struggled against this guy. Still, the music and the ambientation are really epic, i'll give him that.
You're right he's an Eh... of a Boss one of the quickest Bosses I can beat in any of the SNK fighting games however he's my favorite one just the look alone looks like someone I wanna see wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Orochi is borderline broken in terms of moveset, but his AI is very far from being on your usual SNK Boss Syndrome level. He's not as aggressive or overly defensive as most SNK bosses, so you get a lot more chances to get in close and beat the crap out of him. Had his AI been on the same level as, say, Goenitz in '96, he'd probably be nearly unbeatable.
Yea honestly Orochi has always been a pushover, one of the easiest bosses in the entire series, which i always hated. He was the one KOF boss i actually WANTED to be hard seeing his place in the storyline.
