Not sure about A5, from my small research - originally in A6 C6 there was mineral power steering oil G002000 that later was replaced by VAG with synthetic G004000, even though reservoir cap says "Use mineral oil only". Synthetic oil Febi 6161 is a cheaper option, and this is the one I used. What do you have written on the reservoir? If any of the above Gxx is mentioned, then I'd either go with the original or above Febi as a budget option.
Hi, yeah, got it from AliExpress s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oErW5XZ I have MMI 3G, but they also sell these android screens for MM 2G. Here is installation video if you plan to mount it yourself: th-cam.com/video/ChPDsSDVKG0/w-d-xo.html You can check some other vids, if you want to add to add some other good stuff from AliExpress on top of this android screen like front and side cameras. Enjoy!
Nice Video, better then some other ones I've seen today regarding that topic. And one of two videos explicitly for the A6 C6 (4F). Did you know there is a paper filter inside that hydraulic fluid container? On Motor-Talk the user Chefkoch posted some pictures from a (forcefully) opened container. Summary: The filter is not servicable, as you can't open that container. New OEM container is just shy of 100 bucks, the alternative from Metzger can be obtained for a third of that... Edit: I wonder how long that reply stays up here. YT didn't like when I added the 'dot de' to Motor-Talk.
Thanks! Glad you liked the video! I didn't know there is a paper filter inside, thanks for info! Paper filter and not serviceable doesn't sound like a robust solution. I have tried to flush the fluid container with a break cleaner, hopefully it got rid of some dirt/particles accumulated there over the years and even more hopefully no harm was done to the paper filter. Have you noticed any issues with your power steering or just maintenance?
I wish I knew about the LM 1099 before, but it can be just added anytime, right? For me no leaks anywhere but that additive should soften the seals that harden over time and my car is 14 years old, from my experience rubber lasts around 8 years and then looses it's properties ofc it depends on type of rubber and working conditions but when 8 years old anything can happen. I've done so much with this car that it should stay with me forever so trying to keep it in top shape, oil flushes, oil additives, ceratec, mos2, transmission flush and some additives, but missed the one for the power steering, thanks a lot for that hint!
Omg my reservoir steering wheel was empty i did not know till i checked today and that's why my steering wheel is hard to turn sometimes and it cause noise outside when i turn steering wheel right or left ? What to do bro
Damn, I hope it was not empty too long so there was no damage done. I hope you filled the reservoir up to the right level. I'd observe if there are any leaks. Usually, there is a reason why the fluid is gone. Keeping fingers crossed 🤞
@@AudiDIY could it be that reason reservatiour is empty which cause of the noise that makes whenever i turn steering wheel right or left its makes a little noise like crack wires then its stops while im driving
Why did you have to remove the reservoir? Just for my understanding. Thanks
Just wanted to rinse it more thoroughly, it was already almost detached, not much more additional effort
I have been looking for an Audi A5 power steering fluid w for some time now, Thank You, where do I buy the fluid from?

@@AudiDIY I plan to do just maintainance. I'll add one tube of Liqui Moly 1099 to help revitalize all the seals.

@@AudiDIY I think you can add it later, as the fluid is pumped around anyway, so it'll reach the most remote corners of the system sooner or later.
Thanks!
Quanti litri servono per cambiare l'olio?
Il serbatoio in sé è poco più di 1 litro, per svuotarlo ne ho usati circa 1,3-1,5 litri.

Ottimo video... quindi circa 2 litri... grazie
Un po' più di 1 litro sarebbe sufficiente, ho preso 2 litri per sciacquare il sistema e mi è rimasto ancora più di mezzo litro.
@@AudiDIY ok grazie 🙏👍🏁
