  • Recently purchased the Tynee Soft Wheels as an upgrade for comfort from my Hydro wheels and they are awesome! Here are my initial thoughts on them after a few rides. ‪@Tyneeboard‬

    If/when you get an Explorer don't bother with urethane wheels. Save your money. Not even 120mm Cloudwheels can compare the the pneumatic tire..
    Then let me know when you are ready to upgrade because the mods I made with wheels, tires, bushings and truck are straight up game changers!

    Nice review. i think you need to get the OG Dad Bods. No rolling resistance at all and they are fast

      How does the comfort compare? The only thing I don't like about my current set-up with these wheels is the junk that gets in the belts.

    What in the world of front baseplates is going on on the front of your board

    What is the difference in rolling resistance on this wheels and pneumatics (Hota 150)? I have Tynee Explorer and I'm trying to find compromise between comfort and longboard feel.
    Actually I'm "jumping" from Tynee Explorer to Wowgo 3 (freeeeerolling, yeah :) ), and Backfire Zealot with Clouds 105 and Waterborne Surf Adapter.

      I'll be really with you mate I've never been on pneumatics before aside from a bicycle and my current budget doesnt allow for a second board. But even with pneumatics I'd say your results would vary a little with pressure, rubber compound and temperature, but overall I'd imagine they are lower rolling resistance. These are noticeable when you get off throttle but not lurch you forward noticeable.
      Sorry I couldn't be of more help. How do you find the Explorer? I've always wanted one.

      Unfortunately not, I'm still waiting for these to be legal in my area before I spend the money on a nice board. It's also winter :(

    *Great review, love my Mad/Meepo 105s* but I miss the Orangatang thane so I plan to buy a set of Dad Bods!

    • @ExplorerAU
      @ExplorerAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard of the Dad Bods before but are they as comfortable? What's the main selling point of them? After these wheels I feel like my world has opened up so much from the clouds, 90mm PU and pneumatic options I thought I was stuck with.

    • @eBoard3R
      @eBoard3R ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ExplorerAU "Comfort" isn't really a priority for me personally, I love the longboard feel. The Mad 105s will be more comfortable but for me it "numbs" the ride a bit, which is a pro for many but takes away from the longboard feel.
      I love the Orangatang urethans, I ride blue caguamas usually but it made my board too low so I put Mad 105s on it.
      I will likely swap between both dependin on my mood. Mad 105s for group rides and explorin, Dad Bod 105s for fun.

    • @ExplorerAU
      @ExplorerAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah fair enough, for me comfort and grip and the biggest factors for my choice.

    • @eBoard3R
      @eBoard3R ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ExplorerAU it's really good you know your preferences. Some reviews are biased by the creator's preferences, so when you know your own it helps to figure out what wheel is right for you.
      I would objectively say the Mad 105 V2 wheels would be worth your while to wait for. Skip the Dad Bods. Once the v2 Mad 105s launch they will be the top most comfortable urethane wheels by far, not as much range loss as rubber wheels, yet with all the grip 🤙🏼

    • @ExplorerAU
      @ExplorerAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I reckon you're right, and if I have a second set it will let me fiddle about with adding holes to these and see how comfortable I can make them while maintaining structural integrity lol.
      Will likely be a while before I can get them though, it's not so easy reviewing stuff often when you have to pay for it 😬, but you can be as harsh on the product as you like then.

    Have you ever rode the Tyneeboard Explorer on pneumatics?

    • @ExplorerAU
      @ExplorerAU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never but I kinda want that as my next board. I've seen on reddit a few people having issues with wheel balance for the pneumies but that might be a hota thing?

      @@ExplorerAU I totally love my Explorer. I run a DKP truck up front and a TKP out back.

    • @FastEddie368

      I'm looking into (saving for) a front DKP from evolve to do a comparison with my surf adapter. Just keen to see if I can get almost the same manoeuvrability but with needing less space.
