    5:00 I think they are for the Minecraft shulkers, but they're usually in light purple, so not sure

      They've found some use as detail pieces. The Crafting Table microworld uses a brown one for a tiny witch hut, and Rivendell uses a stack of these (in tan) for the plinth/table thing in the middle of the council area.

      Interesting piece for sure!

      Yeah, it was first released, with a matching lid part, as a box of some sort for Minecraft. I think that Rivendell is the only non-Minecraft set to use them, so far. And last I checked, the lid part only comes in Medium Lavender, so if you want a matched set that’s the color of base to get.
      (January 2025 releases may’ve changed that.)

    Been going through all your videos to see if what I'm looking for is already discussed by you, but it isn't. I would love to see a video about window and window frame techniques for mocs. The Lego window sizes are limited and I recently build the Lego jazz club where you actually get to build your own windows and window frames. I would love to see what options are out there when it it comes to what sizes one can create for both windows and doors! (The modern house actually uses window frames on their sides for example to give a wider window than is normally possible.)

      Yes! I second this. Also slightly related it's bugged me since being an 80's lego kid that there is no Lego-prescribed solution for making "double hung" windows (2 square windows stacked, and in front of one another so at least the bottom one can slide up), which are the bedroom and access windows on basically every window in North America. I found my own way that I keep secret for some reason (and put in mocs I make for people), but I'd love to see other peoples' solutions, along with other window treatments.

      I have had windows on my list for a long time. I too am bothered by the sizes and shapes of windows that lego offers. Stay tuned I will see what I can do.

    Double buying is a mood. I've started to keep a list of bulk pieces and minifig accessories on my phone for when I go to the Lego store. It's all too easy to go "aww yeah, that's cool!" and not remember whether I *bought* those pieces last time, or just looked at them. 😆

    I just received a LEGO PaB order from Oct 28th. I'm pretty sure I've ordered the same parts at least twice since then.

    Dear Chris, I thought I was going to unsubscribe, and I did, but then I decided to re-subscribe because your channel isn't specifically about new Lego sets but more about MOCs. The reason I'm unsubscribing from most Lego TH-cam channels I've been watching, is because I need to help myself overcome the desire to buy more Lego than I already have.
    Thank you again for your channel, it's inspirational and useful. It also gives my brain a workout that might be good for me in some way.

    Those gold pieces are not different, though sellers will occasionally list them differently. Pearl gold is wildly inconsistent in color, there are 3 distinct shades, one of which is significantly darker than the other 2 (as you noticed)

    • @logicianbones
      @logicianbones 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      And the darker ones seem to be really brittle in my experience.

    Have you seen yet that the white 2x2 obelisk top piece is now available in a retail set? As of this year, there's a small Frozen set topped by one, so it's no longer a rare non-production piece!

    The darker gold color is the older version. I forgot the name they call it, but the lighter one is called pearl gold. The older(darker) gold ones suffer from the brittleness that lego had around then. So keep that in mind. Awesome haul 👍

    • @ARDIZsq
      @ARDIZsq 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s the same color, LEGO just used to be SUPER inconsistent with that color back in the day. There are other golds from back then, but they’re almost exclusively Bionicle pieces.

    • @lennynash8221
      @lennynash8221 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ARDIZsq the older one is actually called flat dark gold and the new one is pearl light gold on bricklink. They changed them a few years back. Around the same time they changed the brown, dark blue, dark red and blue. They had a brittleness issue. All those older colors or versions of colors had a tendency to break or shatter.

    • @ARDIZsq
      @ARDIZsq 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@lennynash8221 While Flat Dark Gold might have had issues (I can't say from experience since I never owned the color), Pearl Gold most certainly had the issue back in the day.
      I have some broken 1x1 studs from the 2012 Jay's Storm Fighter, Kai's Blade Cycle, Samurai Mech, and CMF Leprechaun. (Yes, I really checked. I have no life) It's weird though because the brittle ones ARE noticeably darker, but Bricklink doesn't list the piece as existing in Flat Dark Gold, so I'm guessing like with the other colors, it was just an issue with the pigments.
      It kinda makes sense too that the brittleness would be a pigmenting thing, since the higher pigment content in the pieces would mean there's overall less/weaker plastic, making the pieces brittle.

    • @bricksculpt
      @bricksculpt  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      "Suffer from the brittleness" I like that. That's how I feel in winter.

      LEGO PaB Standard is on pause for now. Typically this happens at the end of the year, and they’ll be back some time this month. Just keep checking back and it’ll be there eventually.
