Katonah Woods Virtual Experience

In the 1880’s, New York City’s water system was expanding, which called for a new dam to be built-the Croton Dam-and with it, a new reservoir. The small mill town of Katonah stood directly in the footprint of the proposed reservoir. Katonah’s tale could have ended there if it weren’t for the commitment of its hardworking residents. Refusing to acquiesce, they lifted over 50 buildings off their foundations, set them on soaped timber rails, and pulled them with horses to where they stand today.
The hamlet of Katonah is an uplifting story of tradition, family, and a community that wouldn’t be denied. Their passion inspired us to craft an environment that gives Katonah’s saga the respect it deserves. What the original residents did was legendary. We have an obligation, a responsibility, to infuse our menu, spirits, and service with the same level of enthusiasm & pride.
