Idk if this is like the X7 on the auto adjust, but on the X7 if it isn’t close to level it actually does introduce error which we proved. Always good to get as close as possible the electronics can’t get rid of it all. Good procedures should never be abandoned. We had the problem with the X7, the crew got lax and we had issues trusting the electronics and sales pitch.

as a surveyor, I'm nervous to see reliance on these 'quick & easy, no survey qualifications necessary' instruments...

What is the effective range for shots both with and without a prism
