Ed Sullivan brought these tremendous musical acts on his show. He had exacting standards. You can see the respect Ed has for these amazing soul brothers and you can hear their integrity and truth in the music they sing. So exciting to see. Thank you!
This is a great song but the song by the Temptations that is still in my head after decades is "I Wish It Would Rain". One of the best songs....ever...by anyone. Would love to see you react to it.
His show was on for 23 years(1948- 1971) and he had a who's who of musical entertainment. Please check out The Four Tops performing their hit Bernadette(R.I.P Levi Stubbs- lead singer)
Living in Los Angeles in 1969 we only had three television networks and four local channels, which means an enormous amount of people watching TV on Sunday nights were watching The Ed Sullivan Show. The show was very popular and the talent pool was the finest.
About damn time someone reacted to this. The Temptations -- Psychedelic Shack or Papa Was a Rolling Stone are two more equally important parts of history. Thank you for this. Peace/JT
Ed Sullivan is a treasure trove of fantastic entertainment from the 50’s-60’s! Lots of great Motown clips of the 4 Tops, Supremes, Smoky and the Miracles, and of course the Temps! Eddie Kendrick is my favorite Temp. Watch their Ed Sullivan performance of ‘Just My Imagination’…sooooo smooth!!
I saw the tall, tan, tempting Temptations in Dallas in 1969 Dennis Edwards, who was the main lead on this song was relatively new to the group, replacing David Ruffin. They didn't miss a beat and they remained music royalty.
My father's all time favorite group. My mom would always play her Latin music (We're Puerto Rican) but my dad was a huge Motown fan. David Ruffin was his musical idol even though he really liked Dennis.
Your story reminded me of when I asked my Grandson’s girlfriend what music she’d grown up with and she answered Tejano, oh and THE TEMPTATIONS! When youngsters say they don’t know of the Temptations, I know their mom, grandma, great grandma knows.
Ed Sullivan Show was the place to be when it came on as we’d see the stars we’d been hearing on the radio. Others were: American Bandstand Soul Train Midnight Special Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert ✌️
Imagine having black performers, many of them from Motown, in years where there were still many places that would not ask them to perform or play their records on the radio. Ed Sullivan was an angel and one of the few who insisted on welcoming people of color to the music and tv industry. 👍 Lots of Legends passed through there as they were getting their start, including Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5, Diana Ross and The Supremes, rolling Stones, "little Stevie Wonder", too many to mention. Would be a great rabbit hole to dive into for some original, classic, legendary artists. 😉 Always love your genuine reactions 💕
Great to see the classic intro back 😀 and try David Ruffin, My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me). David was an essential part of the Temptations before they kicked him out. He was also in a relationship with Tammi Terrell, what a sad life she had but her duets with Marvin Gaye are as good as it gets...
The Temptations were one of the great artists to come out of Motown Records. Forget about Ed Sullivan. You need to dig deep into Motown Records. The Soundtrack of a Generation, right there.
Great song. The Era right after David Ruffin departed from the group. Dennis Edwards slid right in with Paul, Eddie, Melvin, and Otis to keep their great sound alive.
@@ashleyfletcher5044 it was supposed to be at the age around 13 don't know where the heck the word girls came from but I voice text and probably just read it wrong I should really look at it before I send it.lol
One of Bill McClintock's many great creations is a mashup of The Temptations' "Get Ready" and Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave". He's a fun artist after you've reacted to the source material. :)
Great song Jayy,I remember talking about the amazing Temptations..and this song .thank you!! these guys were 🔥 ..love this song!!all kinds of soul and rhythm and blues happening
The Tall, Tan, Tempting, Temptations! Best Ever! There are also recordings and videos of all the hit Motown sounds. They actually sound better with the Motown Funk Brothers recording studio band rather than the Ed Sullivan band.
The Temps are the best! If folks don’t request Ed Sullivan performances, it’s probably bc they are too young. David Letterman’s show continued Ed’s showcasing talent from that generation who were preMTV/internet. Letterman n now Stephen Colbert were/are in Ed’s Theater. SNL music numbers are awesome too!!
The original "boy bands" were these badass em effers. The Spinners, Sam Cooke....I'm 52 and a white guy. I hate that I even have to write that. My parents had The 4 Topps and Chet Atkins in the same rotation. Soul Train, Lawrence Welk and Hee Haw were what we all watched. Nobody mixes it up like that anymore.
OMG!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! THE Temptations!!!!!!!!!!!! but... go back to when David Ruffin was in the group ( THAT was THE TEMPTATIONS!) P.S. -nothing wrong with Dennis Edwards, but the originals are awesome!
Ed Sullivan brought these tremendous musical acts on his show. He had exacting standards. You can see the respect Ed has for these amazing soul brothers and you can hear their integrity and truth in the music they sing. So exciting to see. Thank you!
Ed Sullivan was the shit! And there was no lip synching allowed!
This is a great song but the song by the Temptations that is still in my head after decades is "I Wish It Would Rain". One of the best songs....ever...by anyone. Would love to see you react to it.
Agreed! That’s my favorite song of theirs, too. Second favorite is “I’m Losing You.” So many great songs, such great voices.
This Is My Favorite Song Of The Temptations
They could sing, they could dance and they could give off such an intense energy, that’s why I love the temptations 😍. Great reaction!
True Super Heroes of Music, The Temptations.
The Temptations are timeless! Such an amazing song!
Man! Motown is in a class by itself! The Temps were incredible!
The Temptations are among the gods of Soul Music!!!! I LOVE me some Temptations.........Keep h

Their passion just flows through you
That group had it they make you want to dance and move

His show was on for 23 years(1948- 1971) and he had a who's who of musical entertainment. Please check out The Four Tops performing their hit Bernadette(R.I.P Levi Stubbs- lead singer)

Great to are Melvin and Eddie again😅
Temptations for Life !!!!
I saw the tall, tan, tempting Temptations in Dallas in 1969 Dennis Edwards, who was the main lead on this song was relatively new to the group, replacing David Ruffin. They didn't miss a beat and they remained music royalty.
This is my favourite Temptations song! 💕
They were 🔥 🔥🔥!
My favorite group from Motown ! These guys rocked and were great in person
They were such a big part of my teen years!!! When men LOVED women !
My 2nd favorite Temptations song! Motown at its best!
My father's all time favorite group. My mom would always play her Latin music (We're Puerto Rican) but my dad was a huge Motown fan. David Ruffin was his musical idol even though he really liked Dennis.

Grew up in the 60s, and Motown was the best. The Temptations were the the most popular group on that label, dozens of hits.
❤️❤️❤️ The Temptations! This song is awesome!
The Temptations had their own tv show back in the 60’s.
Temptations psychedelic soul is where it’s at!!
I love The Temptations! You should see The Temptations movie
Ed Sullivan pioneered the presentation of African American artists on prime time TV
Love love this song!!
Ed Sullivan Show was the place to be when it came on as we’d see the stars we’d been hearing on the radio. Others were:
American Bandstand
Soul Train
Midnight Special
Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert
✌️
Real soul music!
Much as I like the Temptations and watching them, Jayy just grabbed my attention in this video......wow
These guys are fabulous !
Always love your energy and your reactions!!
And those vocals were done LIVE!! That was not lip-synched at all.

Love Motown music

Great one Jayy
Sheer class.
Good song good reaction
The Temptations were sooo cool back in the day. Check out "My Girl"
Oh my God I remember seeing this on The Ed Sullivan show at the girls around 13 or something like that
@@ashleyfletcher5044 it was supposed to be at the age around 13 don't know where the heck the word girls came from but I voice text and probably just read it wrong I should really look at it before I send it.lol
Much love for the Temps. You might enjoy their biopic, though itis quite long and is told from only one man'a POV.
That song in the intro really reminded my of a song by Paul McCartney called: "Spinning On An Axis"
Another great show for live acts was the Midnight Special.
One of Bill McClintock's many great creations is a mashup of The Temptations' "Get Ready" and Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave". He's a fun artist after you've reacted to the source material. :)

See ladies? Don't despair. Men like that, they do exist. The key word is "classic". @THE JAYY SHOW I love the channel, darlin'. #StrengthThroughPeace
Nice. Thank you.
Ed's show was one of the few in the 60s that showed this...there is a lot of lost footage
The Tall, Tan, Tempting, Temptations! Best Ever! There are also recordings and videos of all the hit Motown sounds. They actually sound better with the Motown Funk Brothers recording studio band rather than the Ed Sullivan band.
Love me some Motown.
Some other Temptations songs you could react to:
Runaway Child Running Wild
Cloud 9
The Way You Do The Things You Do
Jayy check out Nancy Wilson’s performance of Face It Girl It’s Over from 1968 on the Ed Sullivan Show.
The Temps are the best!

Checkout Johnny Guitar Watson singing Superman Lover
check out the Jackson 5 on the Ed Sullivan show
There's another song I Can't Get Next to You. I don't know who sang that.
The original "boy bands" were these badass em effers. The Spinners, Sam Cooke....I'm 52 and a white guy. I hate that I even have to write that. David was not an original temptation he had 4 great years with them
Hi Ms. Jayy, Two Words, "Love It".. ♠W.G.
👐🙌
Leslie Gore Cry Me a River/Hey Jude. You Don't Own Me, It's My Party, Judy's Turn To Cry.
Can you say 🔥?
This is why we Boomers were never impressed with boy bands in the 90s. Motown did it first and did it better. With several bands.
Ed Sullivan was so awkward. LOL
Great song, great group!! 💖
