How can one even do that for five freakishly long minutes straight without loosing quality (or consciousness)? Cool!!

Thanks for your version too. I really liked the accompaniment you composed for it. Feel free to give this video a thumbs up! 😉 Peace.

How long did it take you to get this up to tempo and play it fairly flawlessly(I didn't notice any mistake that were obvious)? I am fairly sure you are a flute playing robot after that performance.
Also but play any other flute type instruments or are you strictly a flutist? Piccolo, Alto, Bass, etc.
Happy Birthday! Amazing job like normal!

Hi, it's hard to say because I'm out of a regular practice regime, and so I didn't spend a solid week on it because of teaching commitments. There was a time I'd have had it learned in two days and up to speed within a week, so I'm sure the same is true now. If you've learned Andersen Op.15 studies, especially numbers 13 and 9b, then this isn't any more difficult -- it's just longer. It's all about coordinating tongue with scale patterns. The violin pieces I play on the flute (especially the Wieniawski pieces) are FAR more difficult to play than this!

Incidentally, there are no wrong notes in it that I'm aware of... 😊

+RememberPluto 'Fairly flawlessly'......? It IS flawless!!! :O

+Capricious Mugwump Thanks, but there is no such thing as "flawless". Sure, it's note perfect (the flute part, at least. No comment on the piano! Lol), but music can never be totally "flawless". If it were, it would sound like a computer is playing it. The human tongue will never tongue two notes exactly the same if you were to see sound waves on the computer. That's what makes us sound human, as opposed to clinical and computerised. Likewise, Pythagorean intonation isn't the same as equal-temperament (which isn't completely in tune - the scale is equalised to fit into the octave), and no flute is perfectly in tune. It's our job to make the scale as in tune as humanly possible.

+Capricious Mugwump I wasn't using it in a negative way I using it in a way were I didn't really know if she made a mistake. To me it sounded perfect but I never heard it before so idk.
