*I already own the Battle II combo **enjoyable.fishing** recommend and decided to try a Fierce II combo to carry out to the pier. Works great and for the money they are hard to beat.*

Thank you guy! Your tutorial has open my way toward BFS cast fishing as it's the first time I got in a single place all the condensed information that a newbie like me could acquire and ... understand. Related to shallow vs standard spool, do allow me to disagree with you and that's why: the spool acceleration in the very beginning of the cast is a result of the inertia torque momentum of the spool and the accelerating torque. The inertia torque is highly influenced by the spool weight! The "motoring" accelerating torque is the lure cast force multiplied by the spool thread coil radius. So, a higher radius means a higher accelerating torque for the same casting force..Further more,, like you said, less extra load given by the (wet?) thread weight helps too. And, of course, the friction forces in the spool bearings and the bearings inertia has to be as small as possible.

And then along came Tsurinoya XF50 reel, bringing the entry price point of BFS way down. Thanks for all the excellent content you put out.

Hello from America! I'm not a UBC fisherman but I've downsized my set ups from the normal 7'0" rods with round baitcast and 4000 size spinning reels to 3'0" rods with low pro file baitcast and 2000 size spinning reels. A lot of this made sense. I find myself using a lot of the casting methods you talked about. For the type of set ups I use though I find that sometimes I have to use more of my entire body on the follow through. It's a lot of fun and so much easier to transport. I haven't had any of the issues I thought I would with these smaller set ups.

Thank you so much for this! My first baitcaster is a BFS and I was having backlashing issues with my side casting and everything you mentioned is what I was suppose to not do (casting with too much power)! Excellent video!

exactly bro. as addition, a micro-ceramic bb does contribute an extra smoothness in finesse operation. if u ever read an article about ceramic bb vs stainless steel bb (on surf cast competition).. yes, some of the pros had mentioned that there were no significant casting distance differences between them but not to finesse application in my opinion. i have done an experiment on this by myself and all of my reels are now equipped wt the ceramic bb as a result heee. I'm totally agreed on ur statement that the finesse fishing is not for a long cast which most of our anglers out there having a misconception. hoping that they watch this video for their better understanding. 5 stars for u!!

Hi BCSG, very educational video. I've learned a lot from this video about UL BC. After the video I immediately went outside my house and put a 1/8oz jig head to practise..... Wow it's so easy with your tips. I was having so much trouble casting light lures out using BCs before. (Using the telescopic Jackson Bastard BC and Abu Revo BF7 on 3lbs firewire line). Thank you so much for this video!

Hola...greetings from Peru....I’ve just seen with attention your video. It was very interesting. I like to do my own wooden lures for fishing from the sea shores ( maybe whenever have time, you can watch one of my videos to figure out how we do). But recently I began to do my own lures for trout fishing. These lures are pretty tiny when comparing with my other saltwater lures. They weight between 2.5 to 4.0gr..I laughed a lot when I heard you explaining the mistakes that anglers do and casts are wrong.and not accurate. it was very funny because it happened to me. Now I have an excellent rod, it’s very light and flexible, BUT my reel is a spinning one. It is an excellent reel, but it doesn’t work well for these little lures. It is impossible to be accurate. I will follow all your tips about the reel I have to buy. I will appreciate if you give me a couple of options. I don’t want to spend more than US$350. Thanks in advanced and let’s keep in contact.

This is a great informative video; but perhaps you'd consider remaking an updated version of the rods and reels as more affordable options have come into play. If you have a updated version please post link(s). Thank you for your consideration. ✌️

Borneo Trekker just get any size 500.. xD UL spinning isnt that much of a specialistic thing. Get a really light rod of your liking and a 1000 or 500 series reel and ur good

What is this type of casting called? How can i reel in fishes. I generally would fish at lower seletar reservoir. It will be a great help if you can kick start my fishing hobby

Almost everyone can use a UL spinning setup, it takes true casting skill and a ton of practice to cast UL baitcast setups equally as well as spinning reels can.
