Hi, Chris. I am a cantor as well as an organist. Your videos are invaluable in learning new music or going over ones I haven't done in a while. Thank you for doing God's work and sharing your gifts! God bless you.
Once again, Chris Brunelle saves 5:30 Mass! Your videos are not only critical for me to learn the music, but beautiful to listen to. God bless you for your help.
Beyond the moon and stars, as deep as night, So great our hunger, Lord, to see your light. The sparrow finds her home beneath your wing, So may we come to rest where angels sing. 1. Our eyes have longed to see your loving face, To live within your courts for all our days. 2. Your roads have led us, Lord, 'cross desert sand. We place our hopes and dreams within your hand. 3. Upon our darkness, Lord, a light has shone. You came to dwell with us in flesh and bone. 4. With shining stars at night, and cloud by day, you brought us here to see your love's display. 5. When life’s great journey ends, and day is done, Then may our eyes behold your Holy One. Composer: Dan Schutte (1970, 2004)
It’s a gorgeous hymn. It certainly wouldn’t be wrong to use it as an opening hymn, but I’d be more tempted to use it at presentation or gifts or communion so I could get through more verses.
Well, I didn’t write it…. Dan Schutte did….and he probably sang it himself on the recording. We may sound a little similar. But I also I wouldn’t be surprised if someone stole the audio off my recording and used it on Spotify. I’ve had that happen both on Spotify and TH-cam
Thanks for recording these songs, very helpful for a beginner cantor.
You're welcome! I just sang this one myself last week. I love it!

Beautiful. I’m singing along with my hymn book... I saved it from when I was in the choir.
We'll sing this on Sun at Mass. Love it.
You are so helpful in sharing of your "Gift" of singing and accomplishment. Thank you!
Still singing it, simply beautiful. ;-)
Beyond the Moon and Stars: such a beautiful meditation following Eucharist at the funeral Mass.
I agree, it’s a gorgeous song
Thank you, Chris, for sharing your talents.
Good bless you more.
It sounds so much like Beyond the Sun Burned bright ...
Yes, it is definitely an adaptation of that early 1970s Lord.

Beautiful, we are singing it December 10.
Outstanding. Excellent tune for Advent, which will be here before you know it. Working on it now.
In my parish, we used to sing this song during funeral....
Beyond the moon and stars, as deep as night,
So great our hunger, Lord, to see your light.
The sparrow finds her home beneath your wing,
So may we come to rest where angels sing.
1. Our eyes have longed to see your loving face,

2. Your roads have led us, Lord, 'cross desert sand.
We place our hopes and dreams within your hand.
3. Upon our darkness, Lord, a light has shone.
You came to dwell with us in flesh and bone.
4. With shining stars at night, and cloud by day,
you brought us here to see your love's display.
5. When life’s great journey ends, and day is done,
Then may our eyes behold your Holy One.

It’s a gorgeous hymn. It certainly wouldn’t be wrong to use it as an opening hymn, but I’d be more tempted to use it at presentation or gifts or communion so I could get through more verses.
@ChrisBrunelle Thank you Chris for your idea.God bless you always 🙏❤
Hi, Chris. Are you the original singer of this song? Cuz I heard this song on Spotify and it sounds just like you.
Well, I didn’t write it…. Dan Schutte did….and he probably sang it himself on the recording. We may sound a little similar. But I also I wouldn’t be surprised if someone stole the audio off my recording and used it on Spotify. I’ve had that happen both on Spotify and TH-cam
Just looked it up. That’s Dan Schutte singing :)
