    Thank you so, so much, this video is JUST what I needed and you're doing such a great job explaining, even the small details! Thank you for that and for believing in us watchers! It's been 20 years since I took a classical violin lesson, and your video helped me a lot now that I just started trying again! I've been playing other types of music all this time, but now that I just started practising techniques again, you gave me a boost

    Thank you for this video and ALL your videos Ms. Lee! I'm fresh out of my classical music diploma and I'm doing my best to teach myself and keeping my techniques sharp. This is the video I'll use to figure out Czardas. It feels like a lesson where I'm there with you. You have a wonderful teaching style. Thank you again!

    Actually i know off professional violinists who not only plays concert music as well as in orchestras but they also get gigs laying in folk, bluegrass, jazz and fiddle gigs. They do put alot hours in on their instruments but they have two violins one that they assigned for their orchestra work and the other for their fiddle work. They told me they have each instrument set up different depending on the genre they are playing. But they use the same technique though.

    Hello! Your video is so helpfull. Thank you so much. I've been struggling at this part. Thanks to you, I think I can do better now.
    I also find the meno quasi lento part is pretty hard. I don't make any development in this part. I'm learning by myself. Do you have any tips or video about it? That would very helpfull. Thank you.

    • @JoyLeeViolin

      You're most welcome Moon. The Quasi Lento part is made of artificial harmonics. And theses are videos about that technique. I hope you can try. Happy practising! th-cam.com/video/rgNDZ6RCtQs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/YOgFk9bNyJ8/w-d-xo.html

    Merry Christmas, Got a question for you Joy, I know you talked about Suzuki Violin School in your past video, but what is your opinion of the Old School Violin Method of Maia Bang/ Leopold Auer Violin School? how about combining both to gain the strengths from both and off-balance each schools weaknesses

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy New Year to you and belated Merry Christmas to you too! Using all parts of different approaches are always very wise as each method offers something special, but also it is hard to cover in every single facts of learning. Happy violin teaching!

    Do you have any tips for a good bow hold? I know how I should hold it, how it must look like and i understand the mechanics behind it, but when I play, my hand always takes another form.. thanks!

    • @goldy741
      @goldy741 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Try practicing in front of the mirror so you can be more aware. It's good that you know the mechanics, but you'll need to repeat the motion over and over till it becomes muscle memory. Take it easy on yourself, enjoy your practice, and everything will fall in to place.

    Why do violinist get upset when they are called fiddle players? Are not the violin and fiddle the same instrument

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you are right violin and fiddle are the same instrument. And I agree, there is no need to be upset about it. Happy music making! :)

    • @weebaldfella
      @weebaldfella 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Possibly professional pride?
      A classical violinist must spend hours and hours to pass exams so that they can be recognized as professional.
      A fiddle player still has to practice lots but there are no exams. No strict rules. Just fun, toe tapping tunes. And beer.
      Which is why I would like to play fiddle and not classical violin 🙂 I just need to learn how to make a nice sound first.
