I have one question for you about sector rotation....how do a common retailer like me understand sector rotation....which sector is coming up and which one going down.
If I may......there are sector specific indexes, which are tracked and you can check them in any standard website like screener, trading view. Set up 50 dma, 200 dma and keep checking... Whenever short term dma crosses long term dma from below, understand that that sector is going to have a rally. Can be short rally or long....further analysis needed. But fundamentally, this could be a very easy signal to track.

As per Indian Accounting Standards which is followed by all the Listed entities, Land is a non-depreciable asset even in the books of accounts.

Sir aswath damodaran sir says most of investors never valued a company most of them just gave multiples acc to him Multiples better work in those companies which are more matured . That's the reason most investors struggle while valuing young business when they are in loss bcoz today's young business will look quite different when they get matured example like Tesla , Amazon in 90s etc

Sir while a book value of 7-8 can be expensive but for companies with an asset light model like the IT companies the book value is very low, similarly for a lot of companies with high debt for example united spirits earlier the book value can be low but since USL has been paying back the debt its book value has been increasing and has doubled in 4-5 years. So I think PE is a better valuation metric than book value where a lot of factors need to be considered.

The land asset is not depreciated, because it is considered to have an infinite useful life. This makes land unique among all asset types; it is the only one for which depreciation is prohibited.

Sir, every point that you say has lots of information in it and I need to go back and listen to it again. I take pauses, think about the concept you explained so that it sits in my head. You make us understand evaluation of a business very well, even when it is repeated, as most of us have the habit of taking a cursory look at ROE etc., and do not go as detailed as you explain. Really helpful.

Covered call should be done on bluechip stocks. And i think one should use stocks like nestle, hul ,reliance .
One should buy stocks not use future because the objective is to not use stop loss.

Sir, more than 70% of the people in our country are afraid of English. Now you have so much fanfollowing in India, maybe they will buy your book but they can understand only 40% to 50% of the words that you want to convey in the book. Because the remaining 30% of people who can read English well have already invested a lot of money through investing by reading investing books. Like me and those who want to learn investment by reading books can't read very well, so how can we invest?? So my sincere request to you is if you can, if possible, release the Hindi version. This will benefit for me and many brothers and sisters like me who want to become rich by investing they are also will be benifit.

I have one interesting question; big investors make profits due to knowledge edge over small investors; one's loss is other's gain; the way you are bridging knowledge gap of small & big investors; don't you think big investors will lose; can we all make money at the same time, in the market?
Page 115.... market cap of the leader will b worth a lot closer to the size of the sector....what does this mean and what's the logic

Sir, freehold land is never depreciated in under accounting practice be it india or US or IFRS since it has infinite life. It is not depreciated in income tax either. Only leasehold land is amortised over the lease period.

Please analyse any company having monopoly is trading at PE of 10.something market know but we do not. When md of Tata chemicals said that we have no plan in EV sector, then it has lost its value. I think it will not give more than 15% of CAGR.

Sir, When any company acquires stake in other and merges it's business, does holding company's share capital also increase? The top line and bottom line of holding company will increase now but the no. of shares issued are more now after merger and would it be appropriate to analyse the EPS and profit margin to actually know whether the acquisition has been fruitful or is there any other way to know? Does Free cash flow is utilised to make such acquisition?
