I'm a current nail tech student in the US. this video was so clear and concise that I'm going to share it with the professor and other students in my class! Thank you
+MsNikkiCrucio thank you so much for your kind words. I hope it might give you and some of your fellow students some ideas on what equipment to use and storage ideas.
This was so fun to watch! You've thought of everything. I used to love to play "bank" or "store" as a child, this video makes me want to play "nail salon". Lol!
+Terrie Thompson what a lovely thing to say Terrie. I like to share my ideas with others so its nice to know you have been inspired. Thank you for watching my video
+Deb2sing thank you so much. I just have to be organised or i feel unbalanced. I am so glad you have found some of my tips useful as that is why I posted the video, too share my ideas with others. Thanks for your lovely comment and for supporting my channel. Bel x
I have never seen a nail professional who does stamping. I wish lived near you, I would visit your salon! Your swatch wheels are amazing, they must have taken so much time.
+GallieSallie stamping is very popular in my salon, my clients love it! Thank you for your kind words. I would hate to think just how long it has taken me to get my salon organised and all my swatches done. Luckily for me they weren't all done at once, I just do them as new products arrive.
Wow I am so impressed, you are the most organized person I've ever seen. I wish my salon looked just like yours. My biggest problem is nail/ acrylic dust is everywhere. I use the sunflower dust extractor and a mini desktop dust extractor... I still have dust everywhere. I also own a Valentino but stopped using it since it was so loud. Thanks for showing your salon, hope to have my salon looking as tidy as yours soon.
+Sarita Gonzalez I love my Valentino.. I only use it on the low setting and find that works well for me... but yes, it can be loud! Thank you for your kind words. I am a bit OCD and I absolutely hate it when I can't find something. I am sure I could organise some of the drawers better but this will do for now.
I Love, love your organization! Thank you so much for that detailed walk through. I also love your gel polish and glitter assortment. I look forward to more videos!
thank YOU so much for your lovely words. I actually have a new and updated Salon Tour 2017. I have changed the room around have new decor etc with some new tips as well! Here is the link if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/GhEWuDdY9LM/w-d-xo.html
Bels Gels. Yes many ideas. :-) . I don't have all that material yet.. Haha.. But hoping that soon I get to have as much ass yours.. Thanks for answering. ;-)
aw thank you so much Belinda for your kind words (my name is Belinda too, snap!) I am glad I could give you some ideas and thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel x
cool beans having the same name , whats your middle name just curious...lol..im so jealous of all the product you have have, I have a small nail room compared to yours...but I'm working on it...when you get time can you make a tip on salon business...if not its ok ill still watch...god bless
my middle name is Anne... I don't really like it much. And most people call me Bel. I have been doing nails for over 3 years now so I have collected so much stuff over that time. I am a bit crazy when it comes to buying nails supplies, if I want it I buy it! I don't really run my salon like most do... I actually have an office job which I love and that is my main source of income. Nails are an interest and a hobby to me. I decided to do the course and then just see how things went. I have about 7 or 8 clients which I service on weekends. Sometimes its crazy as I can go 3 weeks without a day off. I am currently not taking on new clients as I am just too busy. So I am probably not the best person to ask about the business side of things. All I can say is make it work for you, around you. Having a salon at home people can expect you to be at their beck and call. I stay firm with my times and days I work and over time they have learnt that if they need to reschedule then they have to take the risk it might be a while before I can fit them in. It helps I have loyal clients who all come on a 3 weekly schedule.
That's good advice about the keeping firm on the scheduling...I have about 25 dependable clients that come around the clock and they know if I got other things to do that ill have to try and fit them in...they pay for my low prices and great nail art.
hi my name is isabelle I'm from Northern BC Canada and I've bin a Nail Tech Since 2010 worked in nail salons on and off for 5 years, and I'm happy to say i have just opened up my own home nail business, i purchase some supplies from the salon i worked from but there is a lot of things i needed for my home nail business and i wasn't to sure on were or how to get them, as i am new to my own business. but i did some searching on TH-cam here and i came across your video for tips and what not to help me, & i just want to thank you so very much for the great amazing detail on your supplies and salon tour its beautiful and very very well organized, i also appreciate that you have put in all the links to were you purchased your things, that is super helpful. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU!!!!
Bel, your salon is beautiful, I love everything in it and love how organised you are, all those little drawers full of goodies, I have never seen so much products in one place, absolutely amazing. I haven't even heard of a polish shaker before, never knew there was such a thing lol ~~~clients must love coming to you because everything is just perfect, clean, neat & tidy, I could only ever dream of having as much products as you, I have to work on our dining table when I do my practice and I have 3 tiny drawers with not a lot in them so this really excited me, I love seeing other nail techs work stations. One thing I really need is a good lamp because I'm just working with a basic desk lamp that does not give much light but gives too much heat and sometimes dries out the acrylic too fast, but I will get there one day! :) TFS your amazing salon hunni xx
yes I have a lot of products. My clients love it as I am always buying new things. With so much stuff I really have to keep it organised well so I know where to find it when I need it. I love my salon, its my happy place. Since this video I have changed the room a bit and my decor.... I really must do an update because its even nicer now. Thank you for watching my video and for leaving a comment x
Love how you organized everything! These are always my favorite type of videos. Organizing is one of my favorite things to do. Lol I'm not even kidding! Xx **Oh and subscribed!!!**
I.love.your.OCD. This video was so enlightening :O Thank you for taking the time to do this, i got some pretty serious investments and changes to do around my little home salon! Coffee heater, labeled plastic drawers, labeled everything :O I need you in my life, i am quite the opposite of this :( chaos and messy plastic containers. Im a fan!
I am so sorry that this video is so long but I really wanted to share EVERYTHING with you guys. I hope you enjoy this and maybe get some ideas on storage or items you might like for yourself. Thanks for watching - Bel
Hi Monica, thanks for your kind words.I am glad you enjoyed my video. I use the Dymo Lectra tag for my labels. I use the clear tape and just cut the labels to size.
I enjoyed your room tour . Very nice , tidy and so organized you are . Hey , the uv / led lamp the link don't work . Is it available with a plug for the USA ? I'm interested in a lamp that cures both .
***** Hi Denise, thank you very much. Yes the lamp does come with US cord/plug. I will leave the link here, let me know if it doesn't work.... Just so you know this lamp cures EVERYTHING... I have never had any issues with it, I have used CND (Shellac, Brisa Lite, etc) products in it along with ibd, Trugel, Progel, NSI gel polishes. www.ebay.com.au/itm/60W-Powerful-LED-CCFL-Nail-Lamp-for-UV-Gel-Polish-Cure-Very-Fast-Pro-Nail-Dryer-/321400001159?var=&hash=item4ad4eed287
Bels Gels So this light cures uv thick builder gels ? I'm confused as to what the ccfl means ? I looked it up but am still puzzled . I do want to get a light for all the gels ...uv and led ....and having the auto turn on is great too
***** yes I believe so although the only builder gels I have tried are CND Brisa Lite. You just choose the time recommended for the product. You don't select between LED/CCFL as such, all the globes light up when its activated...... its just the time that determines the cure of the product. So in actual fact if you were curing a gel polish for 30 seconds it would be getting a LED + CCFL cure, I hope that makes sense. I don't know the scientific explanation of it... I just bought mine after seeing a few Australian techs who use them and recommended them. The auto feature was also a must for me and for swatching purposes its great to have a manual over-ride as well as swatches don't always get picked up by the sensor. I love mine and bought a second one as a bit of an indulgence but I am glad I did... no more twisting and turning for my clients.
hi Misty... I am not sure what you are talking about. Can you please explain further, my salon is full of storage, lol. Can you list the colour or if there are drawers and if so what the handles look like. Sorry I just dont know what you are referring to.
John Kristensen Thanks for watching John. Here is the link for the shaker... www.amazon.com/Pro-Expert-Nail-Lacquer-Shaker/dp/B00LHZ9BMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439080914&sr=8-1&keywords=polish+shaker
Loved this, I'm in Tasmania, and in the process of setting up my own home salon as well. Do you find it a lot better to have 2 lamps rather than 1? I'm trying to work out the most comfortable set up/position to put my lamp on my manicure table. Currently I live in a teeny one bedroom apartment, with my nail area set up just in the corner of my lounge, but in Feb I'll be moving to a 2 or 3 bedroom place so I can have a proper full room :)
+Areiniah MLS thank you so much. I love having two lamps. It makes it much easier when curing one hand and painting the other. I find the client has to contort a lot less as well. Also with the two lamps I find the client leaves their hand in the lamp once the lamp has switched off which means there's less chance they will get lint or dust on their nails by putting them where they shouldn't or playing with their phone
2nd 3rd time I have watched this. Thank you sooo much. I have had great inspiration on organising my beauty room better now and to be more efficient. Im not quite there yet but so much better. I just need a labeller. And to not try do it all in 2 days. Lol.
thank you so much. the Width from me to the client is 20.5 inches (52cm). I find it the perfect distance. Also I dont have arms on my clients chair as I find it helps to stop them slouching so its not a tug of war all the time getting them to put their hands in reach for me to work. Hope that helps.
Omg...How much have you spent on all these? millions!!;-)) you have more things than most salons! amazing!!!! unfortunately the links don't work anymore, any tips where to get some glitters or nail art stuff for a good price? also what is your stamp? mine doesn't really work but it isn't soft so.. maybe that's why
+sajkora ahahaha, I don't think I have spent millions... thousands - yes most probably! I am sorry the links are not working... that keeps happening and I am not sure why. I buy all my glitters from and Australian seller however she does sell to other countries. Her glitters are the best and her customer service is fantastic... send Bonnie a private message here, she is so friendly and will help you out: facebook.com/Glitter-heaven-387107594769069/timeline/
+mixedbeauty2189 hi hun, it was about 3 years ago when I bought them and I cant find the information however here is a link to some which are basically the same www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cell-Case-Box-Container-Nail-Art-Tips-Decoration-Organizer-Empty-/270881886613?hash=item3f11d19195:g:bgAAAOSwstxVfLwC Hope this helps
just a quick question Re Led / Uv lamp :) I just bought one of these babies the other day haven't use it yet though need to buy my adapter what are the curing times for gel polish etc that you use I have ask a few others and am getting crazy different times LOL.. P.S love the tour :)
+Belinda H Hi Belinda, the curing depends on the product instructions. ie: if a gel polish says LED 30 seconds or UV 120 seconds, cure for 30 seconds. So just check on what the products recommend. There is no switch as such to differentiate between LED or UV cure on the unit, both lights are activated when it comes on so in actual fact its only the time that matters. I hope that make sense. Let me know if you have any other questions xo
Hi Bel, I'm getting a polish shaker soon and I'm torn between the one you have and the Robart Paint Shaker. Was there any reason you decided to go with the ForPro one over the Robart? Interested to hear before I purchase one.Ps, I realised from your triple foil tutorial you're from South Australia ;) I'm surprised your client didn't pick her foils off after the Crows didn't make it to the end...but that's another topic all together...lol!! :)
+MissRhyanna I think it was the price, this one was slightly cheaper. It also came with the power adaptor cord and I think the other one didn't. This client is a die hard Crows Supporter so she kept them on for as long as she could, lol. I think she had some red carpet club events she attended also - the nails were such a hit with so many of the supporters!
Thanks for responding, it always helps to hear if someone has tried one first hand. I actually like the look of the ForPro one rather than the Robart Paint Shaker too, it will suit my beauty room better...lol. I agree about the power cord, I heard a few reviews people had problems with the battery operated ones. These shakers I think will be great for glitters are densely pigmented polishes like white and pastels. They drive me nuts trying to shake gel polishes by hand without creating dreaded bubbles which effect the polish application...argh! :)
+MissRhyanna oh yes they are fantastic for glitter ones and also when the pigment has settled. I also use Mundo de Unas stamping polish which has a tendency to separate and its great using it on that too. I also prefer the look of this one and its so neat and compact and easy to store.
+Bels Gels I'm so jealous. Ha ha. I don't have nearly as much stuff as you bit my room is about a third of the size and it's also got my makeup vanity in it.
Loved this video. Bummer I found it this late and some links don't work. 😔 however did I miss somewhere what nail drill you use or did you not show it ? Just curious. Subscribed 😊
Never mind I rewound to check what you say are in the bottles on the table " acetone and something alcohol " ? What is that ? And noticed that I did watch the drill part already 😂
I have upgraded my efile since this video. I now use the Saeyang K35 and I absolutely love it. In the bottles are acetone and isopropyl alcohol which I use to remove the tacky layer from gel polish.
Woow my dear you've done a fabulous job with organizing and sharing it in details why was the video so short? I definitely need more info B 4 starting my salon in Gothenburg, Sweden. Thums up for U :))
+Farid Zarrinbal thank you so much hunni. I am glad you found the video and informative and I hope I have inspired you and others with some storage ideas x Good luck with starting your salon
+merron atkins Hi there, heres a link: www.ebay.com.au/itm/200ML-Empty-Nail-Polish-Remover-Alcohol-Liquid-Press-Pump-Dispenser-Bottle-/121895313912?hash=item1c6186e1f8:g:7P0AAOSwuAVWwZSp Also if the tube splits (they sometimes do) I just cut a drinking straw to size and replace it with that.
Thank you Jenna. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I recently put up a new video of my salon as it has changed a bit, you might like to check that out for some ideas as well. x Gels only cure with a certain frequency and the light is a weaker frequency so it does not affect the curing of the gels at all.
Thank you for the info! I'm just starting and there's so much to learn. Your place is the stuff of my dreams. The organization is perfect (So tidy and clean!). Just bought my label maker 😉
+WhatsBelleCooking hi there......the 2 ccfl/led lamps are the correct watt/amp for Australia and I just purchased two new cords to fit our power sockets. Thanks for watching my video, I hope you enjoyed it.
Mary Algar I am.so sorry I have not replied earlier but I somehow missed your comment. I have had my daylight for a few years now with zero issues. I highly recommend it.
am sorry I am talking about the large light brown cubby like area were you keep your stamping plates and where the two cabinets are ,where it says relaxed at that whole unit it kind of looks like the L shape office desk
Yeah its all part of the desk. It was a complete unit. I paid $50AUD for it second hand, complete bargain! Originally it cost $600AUD. Win for me! I just looked around on the classified ads and found something i knew would be suitable. Its really large but I am lucky to have a large room to accommodate it.
hey come to think of it IKEA have some great storage ideas that you can mix and match and put things together. A friend of mine has a similar set up but much smaller. Hers is white and she bought it from IKEA. You get the cube bookcase thing but you can add doors, drawers and shelves to them I think.
thank you so much Misty. I am so glad you enjoy my videos. Sometimes its hard to keep on coming up with ideas and knowing what my viewers like to see or want to see. I always try to respond to everyone. I love it when my followers contact me. I just love to help people and like sharing my ideas. Happy New Year to you and your family xXx
Wow, you have a great setup! I'm training to be a nail tech and I'm in Adelaide. I find you very inspiring! I don't suppose you would take someone on for work experience? :D
+andemaiar hi there! Unfortunately I am far too busy to take on anyone for WE. I only do nails part time as I work full time in an office. Good luck with your training and if you have any questions please just ask x
+andemaiar sorry I couldnt be of more help but I work so much and I am also a single mum, wish there were more hours in the day sometimes! Where are you doing your training and how far in are you?
+Bels Gels It's no problem! You sound very busy. I did my training at One on One Nails, but it was extremely basic. I'm doing a few hours work experience at at a beauty spa, but I don't really get to do any nails there very often and they don't do acrylic. I'm required to do 60 hours work experience in total, so I'm asking around at other places too.
+andemaiar the best piece of advice I can give you is to constantly continue to do workshops etc. A lot of people think once they have their certificate then that's it. I can tell you that most techs are not great when they first start out, you need to constantly challenge yourself and practice practice practice. There are so many good educators here in Adelaide who do one on one workshops or even run small groups. If you are having issues then tap into your resources. Have you chosen a brand yet? If not I can put you onto my distributor who is based here in Adelaide. Not only does she have fantastic customer service but she helps to answer so many questions I have and she is very well informed in the nail industry.
+SaraRosa77 that is how I started out, doing my own nails then it progressed to going to nail school so I could become a tech. Good for you and best wishes :)
I now have a valentino dust extractor which helps to eliminate smells. This room is really well ventilated as well with two doors and a huge window. I have a fan that sits to my right and points as the window which helps to push the smell in that direction. This salon is located in my home and I find if I put the wipe I use for my acrylic brush into the trash bin outside the smell of acrylic disappears within an hour.
Melissa Ramirez if you mean the glass top I did give measurements for this on the video and also included the link to Ikea where I bought it from... but just incase you missed it, its 52cm depth and 1 metre wide. I am not sure of the height as I did not buy the legs from ikea however I am sure all the info is on their website. Hope this helps.
a lot of nail techs have 2 lamps. It means that clients don't have to contort themselves to put their hands in the lamp. It can be annoying for a tech if a client is twisting, turning and moving when you are trying to neatly paint the other hand
I am a licensed nail tech in USA for over 26 years. Your organization is a work of art. Thanks for all of your hard work and professionalism.
thank you for such a lovely compliment. i like things neat and in order.

Very nice video!!! Please, where did you buy your pigments powder collection?
love your video were did you get your cubby with all that storage that sit right of your table I need one just like that
hi Misty... I am not sure what you are talking about. Can you please explain further, my salon is full of storage, lol. Can you list the colour or if there are drawers and if so what the handles look like. Sorry I just dont know what you are referring to.
opening a salon soon i love ur drawers where can i buy them
+HILDAH WAMBUGU Hi Hildah, I am Australian and I bought the 8 drawer ones from The Reject Shop and the 4 drawer ones from Kmart.
Really great video! 👍🏼😊 Can you put a link for the gel polish shaker?
John Kristensen Thanks for watching John. Here is the link for the shaker...

Lol.
I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for supporting my channel x
Really pretty love it
+Blackdiamond thank you so much :)
Just love this video 💕 how wide is your desk in inches? I’m trying to get a new one and don’t want it too wide for my clients thanks
thank you so much.
the Width from me to the client is 20.5 inches (52cm). I find it the perfect distance.
Also I dont have arms on my clients chair as I find it helps to stop them slouching so its not a tug of war all the time getting them to put their hands in reach for me to work.
Hope that helps.
Bels Gels Thant helps a lot, thank you!!
love your setup, one thing I must ask, you mentioned warming up the monomer and I simply cant figure out the purspose? thanks!
hi there! Monomer takes longer to set when its cold so in colder climates you can warm it to counteract the issue, hope that clears it up for you x
lovely salon
sixela_ thank you :)
Her glitters are the best and her customer service is fantastic... send Bonnie a private message here, she is so friendly and will help you out: facebook.com/Glitter-heaven-387107594769069/timeline/
loved the video. I was wondering where you purchased your nail tip cases?
+mixedbeauty2189 hi hun, it was about 3 years ago when I bought them and I cant find the information however here is a link to some which are basically the same www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cell-Case-Box-Container-Nail-Art-Tips-Decoration-Organizer-Empty-/270881886613?hash=item3f11d19195:g:bgAAAOSwstxVfLwC
Hope this helps
very organized. Tfs
+Nails By Estel thank you so much for watching my videos x
just a quick question Re Led / Uv lamp :) I just bought one of these babies the other day haven't use it yet though need to buy my adapter what are the curing times for gel polish etc that you use I have ask a few others and am getting crazy different times LOL..
Hi, I love your videos. May I ask where did you get the desk from?
+Samantha Dang thank you so much!
I bought the desk second hand.
You can get some great desks at Ikea though, might be worth a look there.
OMG I want your salon set up !
hanks hunni. Its even better now as its had a revamp.
I will be putting up a new salon tour soon. x
Awesome set up luv thanks for sharing and showing xoxo 💅💕💕💕
thanks hunni x
OMG Your about as OCD as i am...great ideas thx for sharing...new subscribeeeeerrrrr Giggling
I am when it comes to my nail room ahahahaha
Woow my dear you've done a fabulous job with organizing and sharing it in details why was the video so short? I definitely need more info B 4 starting my salon in Gothenburg, Sweden. Thums up for U :))
+Farid Zarrinbal thank you so much hunni. I am glad you found the video and informative and I hope I have inspired you and others with some storage ideas x
Good luck with starting your salon
Hello, I would like to know where you purchased your pump dispenser bottles from. Very handy for my craft room
+merron atkins Hi there, heres a link: www.ebay.com.au/itm/200ML-Empty-Nail-Polish-Remover-Alcohol-Liquid-Press-Pump-Dispenser-Bottle-/121895313912?hash=item1c6186e1f8:g:7P0AAOSwuAVWwZSp
Also if the tube splits (they sometimes do) I just cut a drinking straw to size and replace it with that.
+Bels Gels Thanks for the info. Have 4 on order. The tip about using a straw if needed is great
Lovely! So many great ideas. Question...does the LED light affect the gels at all? Thanks. Btw I'm now subscribed. I'm so impressed . 😊
Thank you Jenna. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I recently put up a new video of my salon as it has changed a bit, you might like to check that out for some ideas as well. x
Gels only cure with a certain frequency and the light is a weaker frequency so it does not affect the curing of the gels at all.
Thank you for the info! I'm just starting and there's so much to learn. Your place is the stuff of my dreams. The organization is perfect (So tidy and clean!). Just bought my label maker 😉
oh how cool! I hope you like it x
great setup :) Did your lamp come with our plug or did you have to buy a separate thing I hate having to buy aussie adapters
+WhatsBelleCooking hi there......the 2 ccfl/led lamps are the correct watt/amp for Australia and I just purchased two new cords to fit our power sockets.
Thanks for watching my video, I hope you enjoyed it.
+Bels Gels thanks for the reply appreciate it :)
I love it I wish I could have my nails done by you
awww what a lovely comment. Thank you so much xo
I see you have a Daylight slimline table lamp. Have you had any issues with it?
Well I absolutely love it and I love your videos, love your salon keep the videos coming and God bless you and thank you for responding back
hey come to think of it IKEA have some great storage ideas that you can mix and match and put things together. A friend of mine has a similar set up but much smaller. Hers is white and she bought it from IKEA. You get the cube bookcase thing but you can add doors, drawers and shelves to them I think.
Oh OK well I will look in to that and thank you so much
thank you so much Misty.
Oh that's okay, I knew it was a long shot! Thankyou for your kind reply. :)
Not only does she have fantastic customer service but she helps to answer so many questions I have and she is very well informed in the nail industry.
do you use the footsie bath for pedicures?
no. I don't do pedicures anymore
Ahhh! Heaven!
+Sararosa077 I love my salon space. Sometimes i just go into the salon and just 'sit', lol
+Bels Gels I don't mind watching this video over and over. I have a nail station at home and love doing my nails. I want to enroll a nail school.
+SaraRosa77 that is how I started out, doing my own nails then it progressed to going to nail school so I could become a tech.
Good for you and best wishes :)
+Bels Gels Thanks!
will the led desk lamp cure our gel polish ??
no it doesnt. Its the incorrect strength to do so.
what do you have so the smell doesnt smell so much.
I now have a valentino dust extractor which helps to eliminate smells. This room is really well ventilated as well with two doors and a huge window. I have a fan that sits to my right and points as the window which helps to push the smell in that direction.
This salon is located in my home and I find if I put the wipe I use for my acrylic brush into the trash bin outside the smell of acrylic disappears within an hour.
beautiful lovely...
+Gamer Sandwich Flores thank you
I loved!!!!!!

Hi I know this video is 2015 but im searching for the swatch pops.. the link in eBay has expired :( I really like them do they have a name .
Hi, do you mean the round ones or the ones I use for the gel polish?
How long is your table width and length?
Melissa Ramirez which part exactly?
white table where the work is performed which attend to the client when you put nails, I can give measures the length and breadth
Melissa Ramirez
if you mean the glass top I did give measurements for this on the video and also included the link to Ikea where I bought it from... but just incase you missed it, its 52cm depth and 1 metre wide. I am not sure of the height as I did not buy the legs from ikea however I am sure all the info is on their website.
Hope this helps.

I want to live in your nail studio
+Shannon Ellis ahahahahahaham too funny!

Nail galore
I see that a lot of TH-camrs have two lamps? Why is that tho?
a lot of nail techs have 2 lamps. It means that clients don't have to contort themselves to put their hands in the lamp.
It can be annoying for a tech if a client is twisting, turning and moving when you are trying to neatly paint the other hand
♡♡♡ #GOALS!!!
lol
beautiful lovely...
+Gamer Sandwich Flores thank you so much
