Question: As Ricky was explaining how the Race Radiator takes air from the Type R hood to get air down to that little radiator. But you guys are replacing the Hood with one that doesn't have that same air scoop as the factory hood. From the parts video it looked to only have vents for extracting heat not for providing extra air inlet except for maybe one small nackaduct.

Mishimoto tested the airflow with the stock hood vent on it, but you guys are changing the hood... Will that affect anything in that sense???
Although the race radiator may have cooling with the standard hood, once you fit the new carbon hood there will no longer be a vent directing air flow to the radiator?

smoked or clear side indicators would tie the front end in nicely I reckon.
Fellas great job on these upgrades. If I could add to the cooling efficiency, I would heat wrap the exhaust pipe running under the oil pan. No point on adding oil coolers if the exhaust is just heating it back up.

the secondary radiator goes well with the stock type r hood vent, but the cf hood you guys are replacing it with does not have that, is it still going to work?

I get you guys get free parts for these builds, but you did this car a disservice with that exhaust..AWE, Invidia, and even Tomei nailed the sound for this car. Building this car as a track car without a track sound just doesn't do it justice..

the best cooling is venting out heat soak.if you have hole at front bonnet dan side fender,it help 40 percent heat out.
This is probably the most hooked up type R in the country.. and quality hooked.

so hold on i’m sure we will find out in a later episode but with the race radiator you put in it uses the airflow created by the hood vent but the new carbon hood you guys got has different vents right? so how will that work?

I don’t like that the oil cooler removes the factory brake cooling duct.
Amazon is having a sale on funnels, they work well when trying to pour liquid into tiny holes. Those headlights are awesome!

Personally the stock headlights were giving out a way better colour from the side by side shown
if I win this car first thing I'm going to do is remove that mishimoto oil cooler that cooling duct is very important and is very functional in cooling the brakes.
But if the discs were to be replaced with ventilated ones, it would not matter, isn't it?
@@kristoffermangila it does front wheel drive car generates a lot of heat on the front brakes because of the brake bias and the weight distribution. It needs all the cooling it can get. I own a type R and track mine as well

So how do you plan to drain oil cooler at oil change take the bumper off every time or is their a way to do that seems like bad design plus no brake cooling on a car suggested for track use that seems counter productive
So how is the extra radiator going to function with the new hood that you are going to put on? The factory hud makes since, cuz it was designed for the air flow, but the carbon fiber hood doesn't look the same .

@throtl you guys should upgrade or do something with that a/c condenser. Honda has a 10 year warranty extension on them but it gets replaced with the same crappy condenser that ends up leaking again within a year and from the looks of it that ctr has a leaking condenser already lol

Sorry guys but the stock vent on the hood dose not supply air to rear of engine “for mishimoto secondary radiator”
That’s Straight up misleading🎉.
The primary function and design of the OEM hood vent is to supply air to the metal ducting under the bonnet which only directs air to both fenders to aid with down force but this has a good effect as it creates a draft to help pull hot air out through the vendors and corners of the windscreen where it meets the vendors 😎 take a look at any fk8 you’ll see the air gap and feel the heat at corners of the windscreen and the vents on the fenders.
The mishimoto secondary radiator is getting minimal air flow from from some other magical place lol ✌️

Lol I mean a radiator and oil cooler are always great additions, but this is far from enough to fix the cooling issues on the FK8. That said, unless you're tracking it AND are a sufficiently fast driver, it's not even going to be an issue in the first place.

Quick question guys... Why did you use 5W-30 oil when on the oil cap and this motor is designed for 0W-20 oil? This is a big difference in oil viscosity 😬
