RK signed Shankar for Barsaat and Shankar didn't request RK to sign him. Shankar became so friendly with jaikishan that he told RK that he will compose music with Jaikishan and not alone. Thus great Shankar jaikishan duo was formed.

Salil da brilliance needs no proof. Rajkapoor had himself admitted that he was amazed by Salil da expertise in multiple musical instruments. No doubt SJ duo has given many excellent songs but but how could they manage to get award for BeImaan but Pakeezah failed to get award.
