My childhood game. I remember playing this over and over again not understanding what I was doing. I left it alone till I was around 18 and completed it for the first time. I was so happy, felt like I properly finished my childhood
Actually there is a better ending which is "secret" : Choose Gail's idea and go after Kirk but don't go straight to the room where he is, go to the heliport to trigger a cutscene where Regina finds the helicopter THEN go find Kirk and Gail. The dialogue will be different as Regina informs Gail that there is a helicopter for them and he actually stay alive and you get the data disc from Kirk. That's how you get the 4th ending with the hole crew alive, Kirk captured and the disk recovered.
Lrc Lamzor oh wow, i had a feeling there was another way to get the best ending. the game counts it as the same ending, but getting the cutscene where you hear the complete plot is even better. too bad, i wanted that.

From there, it ends mostly the same as the ending in your run. The ending where Gail dies is the most satisfying, IMO. The twist isn't exactly shocking, but it definitely feels weird just completely skipping over it in the other endings.

I loved how the first Dino Crisis game was all in 3D, I wish they had kept it like that for the second game as well. Being able to see the world around you like that gave it an amazing atmosphere and something you rarely had in that type of game when it comes to PS1 games.

In the gas experiment room, you can do a faster combo to clear the gas Red - Green - Red - Blue First, the red gas increases the toxin level by a small margin, then the green gas evens it out. The next red dose will turn the gas orange, and much less toxic. Then the blue gas will neutralize the orange gas
Another game wherein you fight Hitler as the final boss (well, really the first phase of the final boss) is Persona 2: Innocent Sin. That game has a pretty wild story.

The idea that a remake of this game isn't even being really considered is crazy. I mean I have heard Dino Crisis wasn't nearly as popular as Resident Evil and that might be part of the reason they wouldn't do a remake of this game, but this certainly was an awesome game to play. I played this more than Resident Evil really. Either the next Resident Evil game is more of a priority than this or even a remake of RE4 is more of a possibility than a Dino Crisis Remake at the moment.
That's interesting. Ever since I was a kid, I never thought that the scripted danger scenes and the lasers didn't make you take damage and I'd always use up some meds whenever I thought I was taking enough damage from those, causing me to come close to holding my shoulder lol. Good commentary dude. So many game guides are silent. I played this on the original PlayStation, picked it up again thanks to backwards compatibility. Basic movement was always a pain in the ass. I really missed the thumb sticks. LOL

I feel like there's so much depth to this game than there is in RE ( a series that required constant retcons to be consistent.) The game had much better environments, better characters, interestingly superior voice acting despite being mad around the same time as RE 1/2, and the animations were far better. It's a genuine shame this game got shat on by Capcom but invested in what was easily a more inferior game (at the time) compared to DC.
Best thing Capcom could do is remake this and the second one into one game with less cutscenes and more gameplay. The definitive Dino Crisis experience. I'd even preorder it.

It felt like every time I played a raptor would pop out of a diffeeent place and I would be like WTF THATS NEVER HAPPENED . Pretty cool . Makes it tense as fuck

The researcher could not have locked himself in the gas chamber because the door won't open if the chamber has poison gas in it, and there's no way to turn on the gas from the inside. He must have entered when it was safe and someone else turned on the gas. What's unclear is why they didn't turn it up all the way. Maybe Kirk was using the gas as a threat to interrogate him.
Wizard Suth more than likely. or Kirk wanted to kill them so he could keep all the research data for himself. anyone who wasn’t killed by the dinosaurs was killed by Kirk.

I keep having this dream where there is a secret true final ending where Regina goes out to where you activate the antenna before the second T-Rex fight. There, you have to out maneuver the T-Rex until you get on a platform and pick at it with your grenade launcher until Dino Crisis 2's space Lazer kills the T-Rex. I don't understand why my brain is combining 1-3 for, and why it's only sticking to 1 for the ending, but there we have it
that would be tough on hard mode. i found normal mode too easy so i thought hard wouldnt be so hard but i was getting my ass kicked. then again i tried jumping straight into hard for the first time recently after not playing the game for years.
