I have been following Mr. Kahuto's interviews for quite sometime now. What he says is based on facts. He is not biased. He is honest, brave tolerant and forward looking. We need leaders like him. It's my feeling that people who dislike him are those who don't want to hear or know the plain truth. Let them have their illusions. Truth will ultimately triumph. Long live Kahuto and his ilk.

If Mr. Shuya think what he said is truth and what kahuto claim is wrong then kahuto has openly said take him to court which speaks volume. To be honest I agree with kahuto most of the time simply because there is still no one to counter him in everything he say he openly challenge if he is wrong then sue him or take him to court he is a man who openly call our former DGP thief but imagine even a top cop cannot reply him back which mean the DGP is wrong. Now coming to Dimapur issue history is very important because it pass down generation to generation and we should never pass wrong information to our next generation. A wrong information pass to generation will even lead to bloody war. I'm not angami but if I'm to be honest there are many who hate them and just because you hate them we should not blindly jump on important historical facts. Now as a naga I never encourage we should fight among eachother as we are all naga by blood. without creating enemity or bitter toward eachother Mr. Shuya and kahuto should seat and have a friendly discussion or if what kahuto has openly said if he is wrong take him to court, if Mr shuya what he said is the true historical fact then he can take him to court and sort out the matter without creating any bitterness toward eachother. If Mr shuya cannot do this then it is most probable that many people who are too lazy to find or research anything but can blah blah in social media will just come to the conclusion that Dimapur doesn't belongs to nagas which is a very serious matter. Let's not confuse our younger generation with two three version of historical fact.

I have been following sir Kahuto n i admire him a lot but i disagree n very disappointed with the word he said about dimapur. Of course its nagaland so we have the right to say why there is so many miya.
Maybe fringe areas around Dimapur are erstwhile Kachari kingdom but not the whole erstwhile Dimapur district. That is the difference. We can't deny the existence of Kachari settlements but that doesn't deny the fact that the Angamis were settled there long before and Kachari didn't conquer Angamis infact Angamis repel the Kacharis.
The name Chümoukedima as Samuguting is clear. For starters, It is not some Sema name. The govt of Assam nearly transferred the Dimapur (when Dimapur was under Kohima division) to Assam but Goyiepra Chakhesang held continuous protest which led to the retention. Now look what has become of the Western Rengmas in Karbi Anglong, cut off from Nagaland because of transferring their lands to Cachar division.
This is the division created by Government on the Nagas.

The original Angami Naga jurisdiction in western plain area is till that Samagooting (now chumu) & Nechuguard (now 7th mile )which was guarded by one sema warrior name Asu Nechu. Recently 7th mile is also renamed by GoN.
Source map from “The Angami Naga” by JH Hutton is clear indication. Claiming whole Dimapur as theirs is wrong from that GB shuyu part.
7th Mile is a one mile stretch. That stretch is not renamed. There is 7th mile stretch along the highway but only 7th Mile village is renamed which is inhabited by Chakhesangs especially Khezhakeno.
There is 6th Mile but there are village like Sovima and Sodzulhou under 6th Mile stretch. These villages are not 6th Mile villages.
Btw there's still another 7th Mile Model village with that same name.

But renaming should not be taken advantage in near future to claim as traditional land to claim the whole Erstwhile Dimapur like the present situation claiming under one blanket.
I just hope we Nagas embrace & accept the historical truth without distorting any history.
