As we search our ancestry we find things that we never expected. Some of us don't know who our great grandparents were and they could have inspired the Declaration of Independence, the Magna Carta, or Codified/Common Law practices. Josh has a story that quite a few people share.
I do genealogical and historical research. Everyone has these types of remarkable ancestors - we have a lot of ancestors! And their lives in the flow of history are not only astonishing to learn about, they inform our own being.
It's new to me. But I have spent the past year searching through my DNA results to connect the dots. I never thought much about England but last year I found out that ten percent of my DNA comes from England/Wales and the same with Ireland those were places that I never thought about.
So, apart from Virgil, Ovid, Plutarch, Chaucer, Erasmus, Spenser, Marlowe, Jonson, Kyd ... some bloke called 'Norton' was Shakespeare's inspiration. Yeah, let's go with Norton.
Given that this play came first, it is very possible Shakespeare took some inspiration from it. She said there were some commonalities beteween them. That's a common trend among writers- look at something already popular and think you can do it better.

12th times ancestor; you have 2 grandparents, 4 great grandparents, 8 greatgreatgrandparents, next 16, next 32,64,128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8112 if I counted corrected. I'm willing to bet everything I own that my ancestors from both sides were nothing but humble nobodies who lived in the middle of nowhere.

Norton did make good motorbikes.
Thomas Norton, Josh Duhamel’s 10-times great grandfather, inspired one of Shakespeare’s plays? That’s WILD!
Well saying "May have" is certainly good for TV but its not exactly factual or historical evidence is it now!!! Shouldn't of said that!
