I will shamelessly admit that I started playing more osu just to play maps of anime openings
Honestly same dude xD I started to play osu just to play maps of my favorite anime openings as a way to kill time
Nothing shameful about that
Bro 90% of osu maps are anime opening theirs nothing shameful about that lol
How is that shameful my man

Ngl, that was actually kind of wholesome to watch, how you integrate with the community and just give them your advice, while learning yourself on how to actually do that propertly. I'm just going to say that you did a good job in my opinion, and this kind of content is really enterntaining and wholesome to watch! Keep it up!

me: can't pass 3 star maps
Lol mood
3 STAR?!?! i barely passed a 2 star map
Yes let's go, I can do 2.5 stars maps max (everything normal or standard difficulty), yesterday I almost beat a hard difficulty map but I quit in absolute despair after like 50 attempts
I can't even do a 2 star LMAO
sometimes even 2 stars are hard :,)

I legit just read this at 12:26
i dont see sotarks or fiery on that list. put them on kappa
Tips I would give to new players:
To help underaiming, I increased my cursor size, because it's a lot easier to fit a large circle into another circle than fit a small circle in the middle of a big circle.
For helping with stream reading, use an "instafade" skin ( a skin which uses "default" skin numbers as the hitcircles, the circles dissapear instantly)
PLAY. MORE.
Experiment with other tablet areas, big or small. Some people stick with one tablet area from the beginning and get used to it, but it's better to find a comfortable area than get used to an uncomfortable one.
If your singletapping speed is slower than you'd like, (and if you're not already doing this), try the "wrist tapping" technique, where you use your whole wrist to tap instead of just using your fingers. BE CAREFUL with this!!! Make SURE you stretch first. I played for a while like this without stretching and it caused me intense wrist pain, and can also lead to RSI very early. PLEASE!! STRETCH!!!! Google some stretches you can do and MAKE SURE you do them before you play, even if you're just playing casually.
It's hard to give generalized advice, because most advice is tailored specifically for each player (such as hold sliders longer if you're dropping ends frequently, etc.) but I hoped this helped!
when a 8 month old player is just slightly worse than you and all your 3 years playing osu.

If you plan to coach more I'd suggest you to also go into the mental side of improving, I think mentality is just as important to keep improving. This was really fun to watch :)
That should be awesome to get like an other session with the same people in a few months so they can tell if they have improved due to your advices
You should make this a permanent thing. Also, i would really like to get coached😆.

"Being mental aware of what you're doing wrong can make you stop"
I've been overaiming for like 12 months now basically out of nowhere. Probably because I changed my area a million times a day, but yeah.... that advice does not work for me.
Are you aware that ur changing your tablet area too much btw?
Stop changing tablet area, aim will come when you play more.
The second kid is so genuine
"Play more" that's it. Learning how to be aware of your own mistakes and enjoying the improve
Play more and try playing maps that are 0.1 stars harder than your preferred star level... Then just keep increasing your star cap... That's how i improve
I thought my game was running 0:02
No bs same here
You know you're going to come back to coaching... Some day
I love how this video is like similar to a anime episode

@Orbán Viktor facts. That 22 to 24 minute time bracket is always in anime I swear XD
That thumbnail is one of the best I've ever seen lmao I instantly smiled when I saw it
I would love to see a vid in a month or so following up with these dudes and see if they've improved what they set out to
koifishu: snappy aim with experience!
rrtyui: am i joke to you?
koi, maybe you could do like 1-2 a week, it seems nice to be coached by you
4:32
Something I noticed while playing, whenever I get distracted by some random thought or the miss sound I go offbeat, and a sudden change in pattern really helps be get back in focus, but that's not always the case sometimes I can save the stream by mashing the keyboard to catch up, and somehow save my hp.
I hope you'd make a followup on this - checking their progress in some time perhaps? Obviously on the people who agree to the idea
People in vid: *buys the coaching*
Me watching the coaching sessions: STONKS
when someone ask what kind of tablet you using
Me: no I don't use a tablet I use a controller lmao
the best thing about osu is how its so easy to tell your progress when you pass a map that you couldnt pass before, its really one of the only games i feel like i can become really good at if i play and keep practising.
who knows maybe in 4 years you'll se MDPY at the rank 1 spot w
I'm mentally aware of shitmisses. I've now become immune
If you look closely in the stream in the thumbnail the cursor is perfectly on trail and the trail pattern is bended like an auto bot so we can assume an auto is done to make the thumbnail
20:12
I totally agree with what you say.. I played a bunch of old maps I used to play 3 years ago.. I went from 84% back then to 96% accuracy now.

I've been watching my 4 digit frend play... I ask him how he is so good with a mouse and he replied with "play more" and I think it's credible since he has 2-3 yrs of play time
I started playing maybe 3 days ago and just FCd my first map so your coaching helps a bit

I wish you would've linked some maps, but I understand that you probably sent like 20 per person so it's whatever. Good video either way, keep it up!
23 minutes video, 23 coached people's = perfectly balanced
What I learned is more snappy less flowy
i missed the chance for the coaching damn oh well was fun watching the results, kind saw somethings that I could fix that might help me go from 150k to 99k, thanks for the vid was good
Damn, this looks like a lot of fun, hope you do another one of these so ya boi can get some g4mer coaching :D
Now I feel like I wanna make an isekai manga that the protagonist is an osu master and the world heavily relies on rhythm.
Huh so being snappy or flowy doesnt depend on tablet or mouse, it just depends on the person
I literally discovered there was a thing called "osu" about 5 minutes ago (eh? DDR but with your fingers?) while researching graphic tablets. Now I'm watching a guy coaching other people to play it because I've discovered I kind of like watching people be experts at things I didn't even know existed and trying to figure out what these English words they are saying mean in this context. Ah, TH-cam.
Another way to improve if your new is to play maps that feel super uncomfortable to you.
I need to retrain my brain into clicking with the keys
Noone:
Koifishu: Osu
YT Subtitles: O h s u
That second guy was saying that he's new... And me out here seeing this vid RANDOMLY! AND THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT TABLET SIZES AND STUFF. LIKE I CAN'T EVEN ACE EASY LEVELS I PLAY WITH A MOUSE AND THE "NEW GUY" CAN PASS INSANE LEVEL NO SWEAT
wow I'm sad I missed the chance.... I have quite a few problems I'm wondering what you would've said if I was one of these fine ppl that you coached.
That second guys discord "furry hunting" lmao
honestly this would make a cool series if you coached people every couple of weeks and uploaded it
Very Professional Very Serious Osu Coach
This channel is why I started to get into osu, I can now do 5 stars after a couple of months YEET.
I would really love a link to the mapper doc.
Koifishu : I only want 3.
Them : Take this 20 extra or leave it.
4:48 It would have been good advice if notelock weren't in the game. So if you ignore the current notes you're missing and prepare to click the notes ahead, you'll probably get notelocked if you don't deliberately time your taps late, otherwise the previous circles will still be active and you'll get notelocked to death.
Hopefully this illustrates how absolutely stupid of a mechanic notelock is.
anyone else finding it really hard to find a good pen grip and tablet area? cause i been trying for 2 months lol
I would say pick something where you can comfortably reach anywhere in the play area and stick with it. (assuming you got your tablet 2 months ago) when starting with a tablet the most important thing is building muscle memory so changing your area is pretty counterproductive. As long as you can reach everywhere and the tablet area matches the aspect ratio of your monitor you should be good and you should get used to the area eventually. (you can also try different grips/ways to hold your pen.)
hmmmmmmmm i play on mouse
@@smuckel first thanks for the reply i appreciate it. its funny i had my tablet since july 2019 and my grip and area were solid for the most part and i was setting really good scores by feb this year but there were places i coulnt reach on my tablet because i had a square area so i decided to try changing both my grip and area to find something comfortable after going through about 6 different grips i found my original was the best for me but im still struggleing my area and tablet position. my area now matches my aspect ratio which helps but i still cant seem to get back to the performance i once had. i starting to wonder if changing things was a good idea in the first place.
@@smuckel Then i am fucked, my tablet area is a Square and i have a 16:9 aspect ratio, and i have always played like this, for some years now..
@@sonnyboi1761 I couldn't play with a square but I guess you could get used to anything over time! It's just more intuitive if the area matches what you are looking at, so its probably better if you are starting out. but for someone like you, you are already so used to playing with a square that switch would hurt more than it would help.
wow, i didnt think i would realize something that i do, from watching other people XD i need a lot of finger control maps now
Me coaching be like:
Uhmmm you just need to play more
Man, I love your videos and the interesting things you do. Keep it up
Wait I never knew you were supposed to be snappy instead of flowy
I wanna download all beatmaps that KoiFishu had :>
These guys: All insanely good tablet players with like 3 minutes of playtime
Me: Mouse player with nearly 6d playtime (still not much) and 1800pp lmao
I did not notice the new camera u til you mentioned it but it looks good!
Snappiness is actually very bad habits, like he is Def tryharding on the map and losing stamina like crazy,I used to do that
