+linda - Really? Because 'Grimm' was a great show, and it ran on NBC for 6 seasons. I can't compare it to 'True Blood' because I've never seen that show, but it was way better than 'Supernatural'. If you haven't seen it, you should definitely binge it.

Funny, it looks like a much watered down True Blood.
Finally. a promising looking series from the supernatural genre. It's been too long and I'm stoked! I hope this one gives Supernatural a run for its money. Only then perhaps writers are freaked out enough to invest in good story telling.
Come on people quit comparing this to True Blood. I like it and it makes a damn good replacement to Grim. Its kinda like ghost whisperer meets supernatural.

A huge part of Fiji's aesthetic is being overweight, and self-conscious about it, but her weight is described as suiting her beauty and persona. At least Anna Paquin was average - sized enough to suit the sized-10 character described in books. It is really lovely as a young woman to read or see characters who are attractive at different sizes, but also attractive BECAUSE their weight is healthy for them. Frustrated. There are many other discrepancies, too.
True Blood was on HBO and it was awesome the first 5 season and then it flopped butt i dont see this show having the same succes and mostly because its NBC
People who are complaining about it being on NBC instead of HBO obviously haven't read the books. The books have some cursing but overall they're pg-13 they're not that violent. Every story doesn't have to be rated R to be good
grkpektis That's not why they wanted it on HBO I think. It because every show on NBC never survives. This looks like a decent show that if given time can develop into something bigger. But because it's on NBC, it might not get that time before they cancelled the show altogether.
HBO is a channel that values the quality of a show rather than the ad revenue it generates. Thats why people want it on there shows on HBO do very well.

fuck this. when I heard they were making another series from one of my favorite books I was eager, even if true blood wasn't exactly like the books. but this is ridiculous. Fiji is supposed to be a larger woman, Manfred is supposed to be covered in piercings. Lemuel is supposed to be white as a sheet. this is such bullshit how they change everything to make it this over the top aesthetically pleasing drama. but of course it'd be made that way since it's on a channel like NBC. gotta keep things simple for the simple minded. terrible. most of what I see didn't even happen. Manfred doesn't see any dead people and he doesn't fuck with oujia boards especially alone. this is terrible.
Yeah, I read the first book and the show doesn't have the mood or aesthetic of the book at all. It should be more low key, quieter.

Ok so I haven't read the books or started the show and usually I have a policy of not watching a show unless I read the books. That being said I didn't like True Blood, I don't think I'm a fan of Charlene Harris to be honest. Are the books really good or are they just ok? Also it's only a trilogy right?

I like the concept and I do love Francois Arnaud, but from what I see the script and acting seem kind of wooden, and the special effects with the wings coming out were just a big depressing.

Well. It's maybe got some tiny relation to the books, but certainly takes off into it's own space. Obvs Hollywood needs to really ramp up the horror/violence/gore etc. I don't watch TV and I don't know if this show still exists?
