2 interesting things about this performance, Andrew Lloyd Weber(who wrote the Broadway play) loves this version. At star of video where you see Jukka, the drummer, grabbing his head before it starts, was having a migraine headache at the time so he is grabbing his head in pain.
last year was the 1st time Mako and Tarja sang Phantom together on stage. Her last night was this night. October 21, 2005. Its Helsinki Finland. last night of the Once upon a Tour. Tarja (taa rr ee aa) was a co founder in 96 with Tuomas key boards/writer/composer and Empu on guitar. That was Jukka on drums. He stopped playing in 2014 and is a day manager. Marko Bass was the 1st dedicated male vocalist joined in 2001. left in 2021. Tarja classically trained for the stage in German Lied music from centuries before electric amplification and microphones. A style that cuts through orchestras and can be heard throughout the hall. Tarja was the only one on stage who did not know it was her final night. It got really physically dangerous and emotionally and publicly ugly after Her departure on their part. People took sides. Still do. Now next up after a year of looking was Annette Olzen a swedish singer. more pop metal. A different direction. 07 to 12. Then the current front woman Floor Jansen took over when a pregnant Anette had to leave the tour. Wether she intended to quit the band or was fired also disputed. Floor actually met the band in 03 where her then band was asked to open for them that summer in Europe. She has been friends with all of them since. That includes Tarja. In fact in 2012 when both ladies were at the same festival in Belgium they did a cover together of a NW hit from 2001. Originally a song by Gary Moore in 1986. At that show Tarja had Floor her very good friend unquote as a guest on stage. (Tarja went solo in 2006) Tarja asked for no hate just love as Floor joined NW with her blessings for Ms Jansen. Ignoring partisan fans the queens have worked together over the years. Present day last year Marko teamed up to do some shows at the same venue as Tarja. They would do each other's songs and NW songs they sang together back in the day and classic metal hits. Next year will see a formal Together Again tour Right now she is doing a 10 year anniversary tour with Within Temptation & lead singer Sharon Den Adele. Then her annual x mas tour. those are the brief history and current news of the singers you heard.
Thank you for deciding to continue exploring Nightwish music, you have a new subscriber here. Today you met Tarja Turunen, the band's first female singer, together with Marco Hietala, bassist and singer. The concert took place in Helinki, Finland, in 2005. All the best, from Romania!
I've been a Nightwish fan since the 90's, through all three vocalists. I'm usually team Floor, but I appreciate all three of them. This is the best version of Phantom they've done, in my opinion. Probably my favorite version that anyone has done. 🤘🤘🤘
K-Ross , Yes this is the best Nightwish version with Tarja from 2005 , Floors best version is with Hank Porte on Beste Zangers show , even when Nightwish with Floor did this song in Amsterdam with guest Hank Porte it wasn`t that good in my humble opinion . PS Happy Birthday !!!
ALL hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH AND OF ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍🤘
Tarja is the Queen of Metal. She is the original real deal. Anette did some great studio work for the albums. Floor Valkyrie the Warrior Princess. She does Anette's studio work very well live and some of Tarja's songs. But as a whole the early music 1996-2005 was for Tarja and even Floor struggles with it. For me it will always be Tarja.
Floor struggles with it? lol She eats it up for breakfast and puts her own story-telling style over it. Totally changes the way the song is interpreted by the listener. Same as Adam Lambert did with Cher's 'Believe'. Floor adds her own flavor, as you would expect, and while not losing the originality of the melody. Those older songs weren't written for Floor, but she has done them justice, and with the same effort as she puts into everything. Just can't listen to Tarja, other than a few songs where her sound is ethereal, and well matched to the song. Her vibrato is just way too slow, and it's always about her, never the song and the collective.
you should definitely listen to this song, where Nightwish with of course Floor feat Henk Poort in 2023. For me in 2005 Marco was phenomenal, Floor is in 2023 the pinnacle of singing talent🤟🏻🤟🏻
Tarja is the original and one the pioneers for female fronted symphonic metal, Floor is the ultimate, most dynamic singer of all songs. There was another singer…..🤔🤷🏼♂️
Do you want to hear a guy with an 6 octave range? Please react to "DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN" singing OGNI PIETRA from the Arnau Concert on his own channel. It's mind blowing and I'm sure you will like it. All the best from Germany 🇩🇪 Petra
Well, for the female part I could (marginally) agree if you're talking about the Beste Zangers version. But Marko vs. Henk? Henk is a nice guy, but he's no Marko. Also Marcel and his crew, they are not Emppu, Yukka and Tuomas. And Amsterdam live with NW and Henk...it must be a lovely memory if you were there.
NOTE: This was filmed on my AUGUST BIRTHDAY REQUEST STREAM a few months back :)

Absolutely the best performance of this song ever! I love Floor, but Tarja’s voice fits this song just perfectly. And Marko, wow! 🤘🔥
@@Aenea-de9vy I concur!

All the best, from Romania!
Marko best phantom ever in my book.
Fun fact: she had the flu and wasn't feeling fine but she still hit those notes ❤
It makes me so happy when someone obviously appreciates Marko so much. I could tell by your face when he sang.
Glad to see you came back.

Floor is good, very good but Tarja is brilliant.
The Ziggo Dome version - Nightwish with Floor and Henk Port... greatest version ever made

Agree! And of caurse " Stranger"
Next? Battle Beast Noora Louhimo. Where Angels Fear To Fly official music video from Finland. Best female HEAVY Metal Singer.
Floor version with henk poort is so much better in my view
Nah. Marko is a god.

Different. Not better. Yes it is very good also but nothing like Tarja and Marko. Different class.
Nah. I’m much more a fan of Floor overall, but in this, Tarja and Marko are the best.
@@vogel2280 I was there in 2022 for an Amsterdam show. I enjoyed Henk’s performance, but it didn’t match Marko’s.
