That was a great movie. I don't remember the tunnel. Suppose I need to watch the movie again. Definitely know the area. I was snowed in one Christmas. They closed the Thruway at Dunkirk. That was in the 80s. Thank you Eric.
I just watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles about two days ago. I love the stone work! It’s interesting that there is a tunnel here and not a bridge. I’m guessing the Erie Buffalo line on top was here first?
@@derfroschprinzausbayern Please explain this "fun" to me. I was under the impression that getting hit by a train was the opposite of fun, so obviously I don't understand the concept.
@@14caz68 I see what you did, there. Approximately two people die each day, trespassing on the railroad in the USA, excluding suicides. That is, every day, two people who thought they were taking enough precautions to stay safe got hit by a train and killed. All he knows is that there are _usually_ no trains on that day. As long as they don't have to run an extra one for whatever reason. Or don't decide to do some maintenance on the day the trains don't run.
Spectacular upload as always! On that thought I liked seeing parts of the Erie Canal east of you.
The Erie canal is pretty neat too! Lotta history there!
@ericcoffedgp40 Circa early 90s I would run US 20 to Seneca Falls, and angle up to Gansevoort. Beautiful country.

Yes, I think so. The stone work is just amazing! It has lasted all these years with little deterioration. Absolutely incredible!
shame they don't use that old rail line above as a trail to hike along
I agree, that would be pretty neat!
Or, how about this? Let's not trespass on the railroad. Let's not put ourselves in a position where we have no escape if a train comes.

He did express (😏) there are no trains on that day at all.
