    Thanks for this video. I learned more from this than I have from all the other videos I have watched.

    I bought my Helix 10 for the SI feature however I have found the auto chart live to be the real gem on this unit.

    Great presentation! Do you have tips so my dual spectrum chirp XM 14 HWMSI T transducers can read at speed! Have tried thee times now using a level , working at my LUND transom. Hate to think it’s impossible.

    I guess what I don't understand is if I am running lakemaster why do i need to autochart. And if its because autochart gives more detail how do they reconcile when I come back a week later?

    A lake i want to map fluctuates 20 ft for winter draw down. What do i need to do with water level offset when mapping it? Im guessing make sure lines read actual depth then when i go back to do more change so line depth matches sonar depth reading?

    • @thefirstcast5894
      @thefirstcast5894  ปีที่แล้ว

      20 feet is substantial of course but when I am on a lake that is up 2 feet, I set my depth offset to +2, if it's down 2 feet, I set it to -2. Your change is bigger but still the same procedure. This would still give you an accurate map at full pool and offset at 0.

    Please tell me why I cannot see my shaded path as I am charting when using auto chart live. Software is updated and is gn4 unit. What screen do I go to after hitting record and what settings to get the shaded area each side of boat to show as I chart?

      I replied to your previous comment with a few suggestions, were you able to confirm those?
      In the video, starting at 2:10, I walk you through all of the settings used to make the map as seen in the video. Duplicate those settings and see if that helps you.

    Can you view the auto charts you've made while at the house and not on the water or do you have to be on the water to view them?

    • @markweare3458
      @markweare3458 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can view your maps at home,yes. You do it on your units as normal, just cursor over to the lake and the map will show from your recording. You can zoom in and out, change color's etc.

    Question for you.. I fought with auto chart live for 2 weeks after getting my helix 10 g4n. I could never see the colored path on the base map with contour lines as I mapped. Nobody, including Humminbird tech, could figure it out. Then by accident I found out that you have to zoom in to be able to see the depths and colored path as I map. Why doesn't anyone say you have to zoom on all these videos?

      To be honest, it's probably because it is a basic thing for a user to do and when trying to help others, sometimes the folks in the know assume there are some basic items known, taken for granted in other words. The good news is you that have your issue resolved and use the feature more often now. Good fishing.

      I once had a freezer that stopped working. Everything seemed fine, but nobody could figure out why it wasn't working. Eventually I just gave up and threw it away.
      Turns out it was the socket it was plugged into that wasn't working

      :) true but that old girl never gave me any problems over 11 years, was the best truck I've bought so far. I just sold it to another person with 676842 km on it. That noise by the way was piston slap which has been there for over 400,000 km. Running a Silverado now with the 3.0 liter diesel, see how that one does for me.
      Thanks.

    Would you happen to know why my helix 9mega si/di gps chirp g2n is getting erratic death reading? While doing ACL it’s almost pointless because of the erratic readings below 10 ft it reads good above 10’ and I’ve tried setting depth on manual to 65’ and still doesn’t help

    • @thefirstcast5894
      @thefirstcast5894  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure which software version you are running but there was an update at one point that corrected an issue with erratic depth readings. I would start there first.
      Obviously, if you can get the depth readings stable, the mapping will be spot on.

    Can someone help me? Just got a helix 10 mega si+ gps g4n and when I run auto chart live it does not show the path I am taking while mapping. I don't get the gray area 25 feet each side of my boat showing the area I am mapping so I can see where I have already mapped. I do have the lines card. Any advice?

    Where does the auto chart save when saving to the 8 hours internal so i cab use while Waiting on by zero lines card.

    • @thefirstcast5894
      @thefirstcast5894  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it saves internally it writes to the units memory. It stays there until you transfer it to a card or overwrite it by recording beyond that approximate 8 hours of recording.

    Why was it so difficult for Hummingbird to provide extra memory for their units from the beginning. ??
    It's not like it takes up space.
    Now I have to go buy an SD card that costs me $200 from the hummingbird agent with maps on it I will never use. I fish in estuaries on a 3m boat with a 15hp Yamaha.
    I will never ever go into the ocean with my 3m boat.
    I'm disappointed I bought this hummingbird helix7 SI.

      cant u just get a normal sd card for like 10 bucks.. i use a normal one in my garmin echomap unit. no use in buying those maps. I just map all my own spots by myself anyways,
