- Amateur video recording of Queen concert in Slane (5th July 1986), Ireland, during their 1986 Magic Tour. Raw source video is a high generation copy which became also overbright while transfering. Unfortunately it's the best circulating copy at the moment. This restoration has ghost-effect significantly reduced, colours are corrected and the audio is replaced with an audience recording, which is fluttering at some points, but is still superior when compared to amateur video footage's audio. Also, this restoration is 50 FPS, as usually.
It's mostly complete and includes multiple angles. Some parts are really distant, others look like they're recorded 10 meters from the scene.

"Nearly 100,000 people poured into the grounds (and plenty without tickets) starting when the gates opened at 9am - a full nine hours before Queen were due to appear, and four hours even before the first supporting group was due on stage. Some brave souls came up the River Boyne in canoes, trying to get in the back way! With plenty of people admitting themselves into the show like this, it's impossible to calculate an accurate attendance for the gig. But the paid attendence of 92,000 was the largest for a show in Slane to date; even bigger than Bruce Springsteen's concert the previous year.
A fan recalls there wasn't much atmosphere to begin with because the show began and ended in daylight, due to a lack of lighting on the Slane site. Plenty of people in the audience got drunk and, combined with the steady rainfall, it led to some problems all afternoon. It began with various objects being thrown at the opening acts." ~Queenlive.ca

6:18 the moment
1986 Freddie was stopping the concert to make sure no one got hurt...36 years later when people get crushed the main act says no blame can be laid on him followed a few months later by the world in awe as an act stops her show to help a fan in need
Thanks a lot to this "amateur" who recorded this concert, otherwise we had never get to know
Cool thing at 8:18 Brian and Freddie synched moving legs
I was there.Thanks for the memories🇮🇪🙏❤️
Did they use the lights?
Me too....😊
This is really excellent footage. I've seen this before but it was virtually unwatchable. This is fantastically clear and steady.
This is the best quality of Radio Ga Ga I’ve heard from Slane 86
On Bohemian Rhapsody at the end Freddie was trying of to make some vocals like as wembley...this was concert was only one week previous to wembley
Thanks Bob!
One of the best rock performers of all time with one of the best rock bands of all time not so many spots back from Elvis but one of the most legendary.
Maybe this can be the best source available
VERY GOOD WORK!
5/7 - happy anniversary to this infamous gig! :)
BOB,
THANK YOU, SO MUCH FOR THIS…
SUCH A GREAT QUALITY RARITY!
You're welcome
Great restoration!
Wished at 51:50 was the angle captured on the Knebworth footage.. 🥲
Really Nice!
40:57 Si no me equivoco esta es la sobre grabación que se utilizó para Budapest, ya que es idéntica. Eso me hace creer que este concierto o al menos Boh Rhap ha sido con caja de resonancia.
I heard somewhere that Brian said he had all soundboard recordings of almost all Queen Shows.
Apparently the band recorded this show with a mobile 24 track studio but someone staggered past it and took out the cable around the same time as when freddie stops the fight
Qué alto se ve John !
I’m pretty sure Brian May said it was the worst gig of his life…daylight didn’t help
Esta grabación es una joya
31:28 Love of My life
THANK YOU
Hi! How did you do the widening? It sounds much better than the raw audience copy. Is it just one channel with reverb?
I don't exactly remember. Likely I used EQ and reverb.
@@BobHarley Thanks!
Omg. I love you. 👃
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
There isn't We Are The Champions?
What were they holding
35:35
A shame weird this concert they didn't play We Are The Champions in this concert, right, is it heavy rain when the video stopped until Friends Will Be Friends
There was another recording of the same concert, and they did play Champions. What they didn't play was God Save The Queen. Wasn't a good idea to play that in Ireland.
@@MrTheBaron Oh gotcha, do you know if We Are The Champions in video, are you talking about if there's another recording of this show as IEM or audience too
Por qué no hubo un filmación oficiall de este concierto? Y a lo mejor me equivoco, pero me gusta más Spike en la guitarra que Brian
The lights did not work at this concert?
I think it would be pretty pointless to have a lightshow when its daytime.
@@kilgore1863 I disagree, I read the lights were made to be spectacular in daylight. Look at the Wembley concerts. All the concerts in England started during the day. My question remains, did they use the lights during this concert?
@@guillermohernandez2842 alright I forgot about the Wembley shows. Now that I'm thinking about it, Knebworth looked pretty spectacular as well.
And yes, this show had the lights on as well. Here's a photo: www.imghippo.com/i/1701364316.jpg
Awesome! Will you share the original file?
It'll be available via torrent soon.
You almost polished a turd, take that as a compliment 😁
Can I download the original file somewhere?
Yes, you will need a torrent client.

@@BobHarley Thanks so much
Footage is terrible
Rolling Stones better
Yes use one of the worst concerts in one of their worst tours and compare it to another band
Queen, on their worst day, still blew away most other bands.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO. I WATCH NOW AND AS IF I AM AT A CONCERT. MIRACLE. ATMOSPHERE. HAPPINESS ❤️
