Thank you very much Tim! Amazing and entertaining video as always, I am very flattered by all the compliments and I also enjoyed our beer(s) very much! Some corrections, sorry if I wasn't precise enough in my briefing: - The orange on the the bezel will stay as it is, but the other numbers/indices will be filled with C3 X1 just like on the dial and hands, so there is only two colors: orange and C3 X1 on the dial and bezel. - The bezel crown won't be screwed. I am wearing the prototype now for 2 weeks and I didn't move the bezel accidentally, not even once. So the worries of some people were not confirmed and we leave it as a turn only crown. - The 300m water resistance is actually confirmed.
@@ozludo It will either be available at Define later this year, or we'll start delivering directly again. Either way, latest in January you'll be able to buy it.
Cornelius - this is the correct choice, not having the bezel crown as screw down. I have the Mido multifort dual crown. The bezel never gets used because I have to take off the watch to operate the crown by first unscrewing it.
Looks great and nice to see an original design. Drilled lugs and an all brushed bracelet would be more in keeping with a dive watch imo. Nice watch at sensible money.
Both look great, good family story, odd thing is I prefer the older release. To me it's less in your face, if I was in the market I would consider Circula because I like what they did with both, and prefer to spend money with real people.
I have just bought the Circula super compressr. It is beautifuly designed and executed piece that is far better than its Christopher Ward and RZE competitors. I am now looking at your favourite of the marque. My only gripe with that model is the non-locking bezel crown. Otherwise it is far better than its competitors. I found one at the UK outlet, Stewarts, which sold the watch at a very competitive price. I would ecourage all buyers to give it a good look. I love it.
Looks decent and price is good. Not into compressor style myself, I prefer an external bezel and smaller crystal so it's less vulnerable. Overall I like the previous model much more. Cheers Tim 👍🏻👍🏻
By the way Tim seems obsessed about it, I'm convinced that the rest of his flat is full to bursting with original Louis XIV furniture. That watch is a 'chunky monkey' but the dial is pleasing and the price reasonable.
I prefer the older model too. Cool watch. It has something of a Zodiac. On their website it's actually 600 euros with VAT for this one, and 700 with the metal bracelet, or the top grade Sellita.
Two fun watches, but I prefer the Petrol dial. If this one has more orange on it - or better yet a sunburst orange dial … I love colorful dials. Do love the shape of the case. Certainly a very interesting brand.
Latest news: just bought the aqua sport with the strap and the beads of rice bracelet 😂😂😂 they offered me a 10€ discount coupon for my first purchase . Oh my God!!!
@@IDKline I didn’t quite understand your answer. Oh My God means One more watch added to the collection. 10€ discount for the first purchase is a info shared with everyone interested in buying. Et voilá!!
Hi, Tim: I also think that the Aquasport model is more interesting, very 70s. The new prototype lacks something that gives it a unique character. I didn't know this brand Circula, so this video has been a cultural contribution for me. Regards from Chile (springtime has arrived at last!).
So the fact that you sat and had a beer with the guy makes me want to buy one of his watches even more. I've decided the direction I want to go with my collection is to buy interesting, but not expensive, watches from cool people that are passionate about designing/building watches ... no Rolex/Patek/AP nonsense for me (even if I could afford such things). One tiny suggestion for Cornelius (and other Microbrand designers) ... unless there is some legal requirement to do otherwise, put your "made in X" text in your home language. One thing I dig about Vostoks is the "made in Russia" is "Сделано в России". I'd rather see a German watch with "Hergestellt in Deutschland" on the dial than "Made in Germany" (assuming Google Translate is correct). Be proud of your heritage ... the rest of the world has forgiven you for the 1930s, now forgive yourselves.
Thank you for the kind words. As to the Made in Germany, I personally prefer it like that because it is the historical wording. In the late 19. century the Brits wanted to motivate people to buy local products and with the Merchandise Marks Act forced foreign products to be labeled accordingly. The effect was the opposite and especially the Made in Germany became kind of a trademark for good quality...
*Great* video Tim. I was taken by the similarity of the hands, and the clear difference in finishing. I liked both - sadly, Circula do not sell to Australia. I hope that changes soon. In the meantime there's the DiRenzo DR5 :-)
I hadn't seen a compressor watch until about 18 months ago now there seems to be a new one every week. Its nice but a bit large, could have been ok if it had started with 40mm case with all of the lumps and bumps adding to that.
I think it's like the new flavor of the month (year) last year green dails, bronze prior. I don't consider this a bad thing, And at least it's a real compressor.
Proper compressor not compressor style. Nice brushing true watch tool. Only bummer is that clasp. Should have on the fly tool less adjustment. That would also adress the lack of divers extension. Kind like that "funky" orange. Nice loom. And nice he tossed quick release spring bars. To bad I have enough watches I'd have to have one "Pforzeheimer" since we're neighbours.
Nice watch, the modifications mentioned will only improve the finished product. Having screw down crowns on a super compressor always seems like a capitulation to people that do not understand the way the compressor case works. Then again I'm not trying to sell the watches to the masses, so i can forgive this.
It looks as if it were designed by committee. Oh, right, it was. The case shape is awkward looking and it's too big for me. The sooner the fume dial fad ends the happier I'll be. The other watch is much more attractive IMO.
I agree. They say a camel is a horse that was designed by committee. Like the camel, the Circula checks all the boxes; but unlike the camel, the aesthetics came out a little better.

Having a beer with Cornelius and then “steering” his prototype...That’s the cherry on top Tim - you’re YT horology peers haven’t done that!!
dark grey and orange are one of my favorite color combinations.
Looks, very cool to me...the guy knows what he's doing!
Looks great and nice to see an original design.

Great review of two great watches. I second your comment regarding Cornelius. Always a pleasure talking to him.
Great review. I really loved the look and specs. So I ordered one Super Sport. Best Christmas gift ever to my self.
Beautiful watch! Both watches actually.
I’m taking notes on how to be a well dressed gentleman 👍

I had a look at the website. I really liked the retro quartz with the domed crystal. 158E. I think this is a manufacturer to keep any eye on
Nice review Tim. I think I prefer the old model on rubber strap but maybe I just prefer divers with external bezels.
nice , and thanks for Cornelius

Tim is right. Two nice watches but I like the old and colourful one much more. Great vid though !
I like it. A good choice for those who seek for something different with a DNA if it’s own. 😉

Digging both of the watches. I kinda like the orange. Maybe they will go a little more oranfe/red like the second watch? Very cool!

Speaking from experience inner rotating bezels are terrible when actually diving. Otherwise, looks cool.
I like the Aquasport more too......
Is this the year of the super compressor?
I also prefer the little brother. The new one wears much larger than 40mm.

For me the second one seems a better choice :D I’m sorry too :D
Часы бомба! Будут ли продажи в России?

More value in German watches than the Swiss.
Whats here is German besides the design?🤔
there are three color options
I also prefer the aqua sport 😂😂😂
40mm 'huge watch'?
