Christopher Cook... unaware of you and in last year or so aware of Dr Cloud but this was one of my favourite conversations I have listened to in a !omg time so thank you! And thanks to Dr Cloud... ordered his new book while watching this! Made me tear up... share the feeling of wanting so many to know Him! Have MS and struggling but my faith keeps me more than anything ever and read book of Job last year like a novel you can't put down and helped me enormously and Dr Cloud discussing Job spoke more to me. Just best conversation ever! God keep you Christopher under his tender care as we learn to trust Him more and more in this life. Kathleen

I'm SO incredibly thankful for this message. I think you'd also enjoy my book, "Healing What You Can't Erase." It'll minister to you right where you're at. I'll be praying for you. Here's an Amazon link to the book: amzn.to/40wxcor

My mom grew up in Oregon. Born in Fairview in 1911. She walked 4 miles to school and practiced piano with the school music group. This developed lifelong discipline. No matter what happened she always kept the home neat and clean, made good meals and saved money. She also had a cold side and saw a scam a mile away.

I enjoyed this one. Here are some takeaways:
    1. In the hard things God is there. Recently i have been having more anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. This is something a friend shared with me. When we are in the "storm" its so hard to see certain things.
    2. Community matters. When we go through hard things, we need people who wont juat quote bible verses, but will sit with us in the pain. Not everyone can be that kind of friend. Try to be that kind of person for others.
    3. Depression is real. It's not juat being sad. It's so much more complex than that.
    4. Healing takes time. Healing can feel more painful in the beginning for many reasons. Sometimes we were given the wrong medicine before or we have held onto negative things for a long time.
    5. The answer is Jesus.
    Thanks for sharing this! 😊

I love this and I agree with you. I've been thinking these things for quite sometime now. I went through a series and tragic events and I had zero ability to deal appropriately to them because my tree wasn't built up. I just felt used and unloved. I definitely had not been taught healthy relationships from birth. Which just makes me beleive the Bible more. The Bible says something like the sins of the parents go 5 generations. Often people think their childhood is the model even if they know something isn't right. It takes coueage to truly heal and have faith in God of the Bible.
