I feel if most of the bosses against the heroes felt more like you're actually fighting a player, they'd be improved immensely. Shovel Knight's boss in Plague of Shadows is a great example of this; he doesn't have a set pattern, and instead runs around like a headless chicken and adapts to your attacks, using the throwing anchor when you're above him, using the phase locket if he's getting hit too much, using the war horn if he's trapped in a pit, learning to reflect your bombs in the latter half, and even healing up when at low health. Heck he even runs out of magic at some point and resorts to his shovel. The hero bosses should have employed similar tactics, not having actual patterns and instead reacting to your own patterns.

I expected this game to be ass, but it's actually pretty good the way they've done and referenced everything. The only thing it could do with more of is sound effects and that's about it.
This game has a cool concept but the battles are so underwhelming. And the sound design is... egh. The boss music also is super boring. The perspective is wonky sometimes too. Good potential, didn't end up being that great.
Even though the concept and idea for this game are ridiculously cool, it's executed.. kinda poorly. It feels like an unfinished, early prototype. The good ending honestly feels forced and not natural, in a game like this that should be the bad ending and them succeeding be the good ending. The message of heroes being the unlikeliest people and how friendship can overcome anything just doesn't work with this game like it does with the Persona games. The win the good guys pull feels like it comes out of nowhere and like they pulled it out of their asses because the plot said so more than anything.
Just for the record, I have no idea what is going on (story wise) with the Becky Fight. One moment, you are finished on Hyper Mack, the next you are fighting the very boss you used to fight Hyper Mack? As the Princesses? What?
I think that's a different ending. The "good" ending of the game, not sure what the requirements are, but basically if you do a certain thing diferen't in the end you get to play as the princess and save everyone, while in the ending where you control the final weapon you take over the world and the ending shows her escaping and implying there is another ending.
Yep, depending on your choice, you'll fight Hyper Mack and that leads to the bad ending, or you'll fight Becky and that leads to the good ending. I had to cut the story before these fights, because damn sony vegas keeps crashing whenever it attempts to render that part.
Why does the sound seem messed up on this? It seems like any sound effects that are meant to be coming from the heroes are cut out? I clearly remember sound effects during the bug hero's attacks, and sound effects when the Viking attacks as well as boing sounds when you squish him.

Especially if the hero is more of one than you are.

Then there are people saying "oh the hero is more of a boss because he has more health and takes less damage" which is just asking to make the game stupid easy and not fun.
Being a parody is not a reason to have terrible execution. The soundtrack can get repetitive, the boss fights just seem simple with no real challenge to them(which is most likely why they just gave the heroes more hp and made em take less damage), and it looks like there is missing animations half the time. And let's not forgot that this game has TERRIBLE SFX, such as 9:18 with that grating laser, or the fact that a wrecking ball hitting into a wall, as another commentator stated, sounds like a slapping a desk with a mitten. You cannot justify something this unpolished with "It's a parody." EVEN PARODIES SHOULD BE WELL-MADE.

* totally not ripped-off of some game.*
This game is a kinda game that makes fun of the good guys, and i absolutely LOVE games that make fun of the good guys.
In the rpg boss, their names are puns. Crosh = Crush, Fallon = Fallen, and Rosstin = Roastin
Feel like this game could use a powerful sequel.
Finally a game that we control villains
You forgot you was able control metal sonic?
It took me 3 bosses to figure out you were the bad guy.
Boss 3 is mother Russia 🇷🇺 LOL
This is the most rarest video I ever washed
Doesn't getting the good ending defeat the whole purpose of the game?
Yeah it does.
More like "Bad Ending" if ya' catch my drift ;)
I dunno why, but this reminds me of a musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along blog" and of Sonic games for some reason.
Police: Put her down or we'll shoot!
Crow: ey bro watch your jet

Let’s be honest, we didn’t search for this, it searched for us
this game was made with a tight budget (50.000) and in a strict schedule just 2 years.
So what, you play as the major villain of every video game series now?
Oh this was the best. NOw. me I've always liked villains since I was a wee baby boi. Could never really get down with the whole hero thing. And this game perfectly explains why. It's just more fun to be the villain. You get to kidnap people perform awesome stunts get really cool airships and castles and FINALLY in a boss fight, you get to be the one with the giant robot. Well the idea does, the game itself does seem a little unpolished and unchallenging. But, eh. I'd still play it.
Mack looks cool when talking and when he is fighting his face changes
