    Am I missing something here? Are you not saying that the t Stat is greater than the critical value? It's not. How is -2.45 greater than 1.71?? Please elaborate.

      +pianoguyaustin3 "1.711" is an absolute value. The t-Tables just show positive values. When you have a negative t statistic (in the left tail) you should read 1.711 as -1.711. The t statistic above is calculated as -2.449, this value is to the left of -1.711 - therefore reject Null hypothesis.
