A lot of people who get Caribbean passports don’t go there, they get it for plan B.
South Africa is a very stable Plan B. That’s what you want for a Plan B (not sure if you still understanding). If you are looking for developed counties for plan A residency maybe you should consider AU, NZ, CA, you’ll have a better Life there.

@@GoodlifeInvestor no I don’t mean western countries. But pretty much every white South African who can is leaving or has left. Why on earth would a white westerner want to have that as their plan B? There are a million better options. That place is a powder keg and has been run into the ground. Just because it’s possible to have the residency doesn’t make it a good option. But to each their own… for some it may work.

Migrants from SA obviously would love the opportunity to experience developed nations. It’s actually quite obvious they will want to leave.
Ps: I think you are confusing “stable plan b” vs “stable residency”. If you are looking for safer places to live you mean sure there safer places.

And yes of course people from 3rd world want to see the first world but I’m talking about more than just a “few” who are moving out to other 2nd or other 3rd world places… SA is bad and I just don’t see the point.
Colombia is not confiscating your land based on skin color and redistributing it (not yet at least). Colombia yes has violence but the economy is so much stronger and going up rather than SA coming down. Sure if you want an “exotic” document cool. But having any value, not so much… you didn’t really elaborate on the “flexibility” of it. Anyways I don’t care what other people do, I wouldn’t waste my time or money. You can do so much better
Fact still remains South Africa is a beautiful country with an exotic passport, let’s give it it’s due respect.
I can see why some people could prefer this as a plan b. It’s not a “dump”, I’m sure the situation will improve. Let’s believe in it.
Ps: Land grabs are common is 3rd world countries, it’s just the unfortunate reality. As long as you aren’t going there to buy land, one less thing to worry about. Colombia is great just like South Africa.

The US & South Africa have a tax treaty so you aren't taxed twice on income. Plan is to get South African residency while you're American, then renounce citizenship without telling South Africa. Since south Africa thinks you're American you aren't paying any income tax

What pushed me away from south african citizenship is that there were talks of them bringing on citizenship based taxation in future… u believe this is true?

I think it’s unlikely because it’s difficult to enforce. They would need the power and resources to chase you around the world … not sure if they can do this like the US can
