    The Record Out on most mixers is pre-master fader, so if you want to record your mix your recording won't be affected by master output adjustments.

    Great Vid,
    Quick question though: If you have a mic close to your controller that you use to speak on, will
    there be feedback issues when you open the mic to speak?

    Nice! Thanks for the great video. I bought a DDJ SR2 off Craigslist super cheap and have been slowly getting the cables and stuff I want/need to get it set up the way I want. This answers alot of questions I had about running a monitor. In theroy if you were running mains in the room the event was in you could run the "booth" to a mixer that would send the music to a whole other room that is set up with it's own "house" speaker system corrent? Example: your doing an outside gig in a patio or pool area with your powerd speakers, but they have a house set up in a main room with a board and amp rack that powers the house system. You'd just need to run one cable to their board. does that make sense.

      Yes! I have used the booth output as a separate output for another set of speakers in a room, or like you said running to a house system. That way you can independently control the volume of the house system, while not effecting your main room mix. Keep in mind some mixers however (if you are using the internal mic input on the mixer) do not pass the mic into the booth output. The X1800 has an option in the menu to send the mic inputs to the booth or not.

    Sempre usato il boot out in home studio!
    ....
    10 BPM e già sapevo che disco era, etichetta, Remix,anno.... E poi alla ricerca di altre musiche per creare la nostra unicità! Bello il video e presumo che se hai speso energie per il boot out è perché non viene subito focalizzato e capito o snobbato, anche perché una volta pigiato Sync....ma non è proprio così, soprattutto perché,ora è " di moda"suonare 4 CH o più. (ma se fate caso,e RICERCA,la scheda audio A10 traktor per esempio è più di 10 anni che è uscita e tantissimi la hanno comprata o erano in possesso della A8...almeno, all'epoca eravamo in 2,3 Resident che c'è la avevamo, 2014 e 15 ,io avevo il Denon dnx 1500s,ma sono sicuro che il mixer lo avevo prima , perché suonavo con 3 TECHNICS 1210mk2 e prima un cdj 100(pagato 1100€) e poi mai cambiato e venduto perché proprio non mi piacevano i CD (io lo usavo per Tracce introvabili o Promo che i guest regalavano,preferivo i vinili che poi nato Traktor il vinile era il 5 piatto ma cambiado su canale il numero e tipo di entrata ..troppo macchinoso) FINO A OGGI,DA 6 ANNI , SEMPRE MIXER UGUALE 4 CANALI CON 3 DECK+ 1 SET REMIX... E,?????? OK SEMPRE UN VINILE CAMBIANDO IL SELETTORE, QUINDI SIAMO SEMPRE A 4 CANALI! INSOMMA?? NESSUNA IDEA😅? IL 5 CANALE VERAMENTE 5 CANALE HO LA MASCHINE MK2....E DOVE LA HO MESSA QUESTA CAVOLO DI MASCHINE CHE VA IN SYNC CON TRAKTOR E FUNZIONA COME IN UNO DEI 4 CANALI??? ATTENDO APPASSIONATI CHE PRIMA DI PENSARE USANO A PRESCINDERE IL CUORE....❤❤

    Should U ever hook up from booth to a amp set up? NS7

    • @Code_mov
      @Code_mov  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! So the powered speaker is just an amplifier directly connected to the speaker. So the level that comes out of the mixer from the booth, is a standard line level, so amplifiers work just fine with it!

    Could I use the booth outputs for going live on social media?

    • @Code_mov
      @Code_mov  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course! I typically go the other way around, i use the main outputs for streaming, then the booth output for the speakers in my room, That way I dont mess with stream audio if i need to make adjustments in my room for volume and all.

    sound guy here. I hate it when DJs use the booth monitors as their personal little party sound system when they're playing at my club. you don't use your booth monitors constantly. turn them off when you don't need them. turn them on only when you need them. you should be able to mix properly and perfectly fine when you have headphones. if you're going to use a microphone to talk to the crowd, turn down or turn off your booth monitors. I have no patience for DJs that blast with monitors then look befuddled when they get feedback the minute they turn on the microphone. I warned every single DJ about this and the amateurs will always get this wrong. you're not going to be able to get a clean microphone signal and your voice projected in the mains if it's picking up your booth monitors.. it's just going to try to re amplify what it hears in those monitors back through the system back through the system back through the system. that's why they call it feedback. it's a feedback loop. turn off your goddamn Booth monitors.
    they're called monitors because they're used for monitoring the sound. you don't need to monitor the sound constantly. if the room your DJing in has excessive reflections.. like at a warehouse or at a small club that has bear walls opposite the speakers, you're going to get an echo / reverb that might make it difficult to beat match.. if your earphones are not getting you out of the problem, turn up the booth monitors. turn them down after you finish your mix.
    I've had DJs blast the booth monitors they have a full DJ booth of their girls and boys drinking and dancing having a blast and I look out at the dance floor and I see no one dancing. why? because all the DJ hears is that the booth monitor sound great, so I walk into the booth and I shut off the booth monitors instantly they look at me because it sounds like s*** in the mains. either they were distorting because they had the master too high or the master was way too low so it was quiet out in the main floor.. and I tell them, "this is what you sound like for the rest of the club"... DJs need to shut off the monitors so that they can hear what the crowd hears. they can make adjustments based on what the crowd hears.
    amateurs will constantly turn up the booth monitors so loud that it drowns out the main pa.
    remember the booth monitor is a completely different circuit within the mixer, and it is being sent to a separate amp and speaker system than the mains. the separate system allows the system engineer to use less DSP, reducing latency and customizing the EQ curve specifically for the booth. in other words the booths output at a club will sound different than the main pa. often there's a lot more headroom, compressor and limiter settings are very different for booth outputs. because it's meant to give a DJ a very flat and transparent representation of the music with as little processing as possible to reduce latency.
    it is not a true representation of what is being played in the master output. if you find yourself turning the booth volume a little bit higher and a little bit higher as the night progresses, it is because you are blasting your eardrums out and it might sound quieter to you, but it is not getting quieter. you're turning it up thinking that somehow the volume is turning down on you? it's not having Booth monitors that close to your ears and blasting it to the level that the mains are pumping spl, you are permanently damaging your hearing. I mean do what you want, I can only warn you. but if you're going to have a ton of people dancing in your booth, you better turn down that Booth monitor otherwise I'm going to storm in there and just remove the knob. you can put your own hearing at risk, but you don't get to make that decision for drunk club goers.
    good sound engineers will go into the "club settings" of their equipment and make adjustments based on the system.. but often the DJ monitor circuit is left as untouched as it can for transparency purposes.. then you were Pioneer mixers allow for live adjustments to these settings, but the older djm mixers needed to be power cycled before any new settings take effect.. so don't assume that this house system has limiters that will take care of any signal that is too loud in your booth monitors.. often, a DJ being careless will blow the booth monitors before this main system is anywhere near the danger zone.. and I guarantee you you won't get booked there again if that's what you do.
