- Here is solo #20 from Portraits in Rhythm by Anthony Cirone. This landmark orchestral snare drum book was written in the 1960s and remains relevant today. The solos are for intermediate to advanced students and are terrific for teaching musicality, phrasing, dynamics, and rhythmic proficiency.

I am using a Yamaha Click Station metronome. The headphones are Bose, and the microphones are AKG 414.
Rick, thanks for keeping the amazing videos coming!
Rick, have you studied anything from The Bower System???
Id like to see some videos of that😊😊😊
Rick… as always, great dynamics and musicality… plus the snare sounds awesome. What model/ wood of your sticks are you using for this video? Thanks for the music!
Thanks Jim

Beautiful playing. Could you comment on when you consider whether to play 4 stroke ruffs rllR Vs lrlR or even if you used rrlR? I know my answers, but keen to hear your opinion as the boss :).
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jim
I usually use rllR for all my 4 stroke ruffs. When they are very loud I might single them. I think the rllR sticking is more dependable and consistent.
@@rickdior Thanks for replying and your answer. Dependable sounds as good a reason as I can imagine.
