Why has the use of a Capo become such a Crutch for Contemporary Christian music guitar players, when they are so rarely used by other musicians?
They’re used more so for rhythm guitar and there are just generally more rhythm players in worship music.
I don’t think that is the case as both Hillsong Elevation and Planetshakers music often has lead guitar lines and solos.
Paul Bingham Yeah, but they have plenty of rhythm players on stage as well. They’re not all lead players.
For the artists/musicians putting out the music, it's usually more so achieving a tonal change or 'filling space' than a crutch.
