    How would you do a multicolor print on nylon jackets?

    Did you consider using the jacket hold down? I'd love to print windbreakers but concerned about wasting blanks without the proper hold down.

      As long as you have new platen tape and fresh adhesive there shouldn't be any problems. We just always make sure to use fresh platen tape so there aren't any fibers stuck to the platen because the nylon will show that texture in the print. We haven't had a problem with the jacket moving during the print.

    Can you use DTF on windbreakers?

      Yes you can! Howard transfer could probably help you out!

    How do you keep the nylon from shrinking in the oven? Do you run a really low-cure temp ink? Even at 285 we are loosing pieces due to shrinkage.

      Every dryer is different. If your dryer has an adjustable heat element then move it as far away from the garment as possible. Unfortunately, there are a ton of factors that you have to test to figure that out. The most important thing with nylon is that you keep it in dryer as little as necessary to cure the ink. The threshold of nylon getting too hot and getting ruined is very thin. It is a frustrating job for sure and why not many shops really like doing nylon jobs.

    So if I add a base I gotta mix the epic hugger as well?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      The hugger catalyst is used to ensure it properly adheres to the nylon.

    can you remove the print easily on puffers/windbreakers?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the ink is cured properly then the ink won't come off.

    Is it possible to remove a white screen print from the nylon windbreaker?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a hundred percent sure if you can..but you could try rubbing alcohol.

    What’s the temperature to don’t burn the nylon?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of factors at play here... it depends a lot on your dryer. You will need to test things on your dryer to figure out dwell time, temp, height of heating element(if adjustable), and so on. There's not a one answer fits all on this.

    Did you do a single pass or PFP?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those were single pass on a 110 mesh so the shimmer gold could pass through smoothly. Make sure to use the catalyst on nylon!!

    Hey! At what temp did you run the jackets through?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We set temp at 400 degrees F and adjust belt speed to hit the 320 degree F cure temp.

    Sick print😎😎😎 that gold definetely pops on top on that black! Was it pfp? Or just one hit of the gold?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo thanks man! We did just one hit on these and then straight into the conveyor dryer. If you are using a flash dryer only then we recommend raising your flash and closely watch your temp.

    what happens if you dont use the catalyst?

    • @GoldenPressStudio
      @GoldenPressStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't adhere very well to the jacket and flakes off after a little bit of wear. If you wash it most of the design WILL come off!
