I thought I couldn't admire Neil Hanon anymore till I saw this, superb! I've also discovered Duke Special (obviously years later than anyone else....but I'm very pleased anyway). Hoorah!
So going into this I'd never heard of Duke Special, but I liked what I was hearing. I jumped onto iTunes to check him out further, and found out that I already owned some of his stuff (I buy random songs I hear without paying too much attention to who sings them). His music is great, but Neil Hannon will still always be my favourite. Divine Comedy forever!
Well, my experience was the opposite of Nick's, I had never heard of Neil before this (other than Duke's occasional cover at concerts). I enjoyed the prolonged spat however and will listen to more of Neil's stuff now. Thanks for sharing.
